Product Overview

Boomr is a cloud-based time tracking solution for employees and managers to easily access schedules from anywhere at any time. As a mobile solution, Boomr is an excellent fit for many industries with offsite employees such as landscaping, maintenance and cleaning services.

Features

Boomr has six core features for managing employee time. Each one can be accessed from a tab within the solution. Here, we’ve detailed the strengths of each:

1. Dashboards: A real-time dashboard allows managers to keep track of employees as they clock in at different locations. Each ongoing shift is automatically tracked on the dashboard, including employees hours and pay rates.

2. Manage Shifts: Managers are able to approve shifts and add new shifts, all from a mobile device. A filter allows managers to select days, weeks or months at a time to schedule shifts or look back on prior shifts. Details such as when employees clock in and out, the duration of their shifts and their location are historically tracked.

3. Employees: A directory of all employees is kept, including an optional headshot, the employee’s role and the last time the person was active in the system.

4. Locations: Users are able to see where mobile employees are clocking in to track their time while off premises. A map marks key locations where employees are traveling and includes GPS for ensuring employees are present on the job. The solution supports an unlimited number of work locations.

5. Reports: Reports are broken down into time sheet, invoice and pay rate metrics for analyzing labor costs. Managers can check employee hours, overtime hours and their total payments over the course of any selected time period.

6. Tasks: Employees take notes based on their assigned tasks so managers can easily check for updates as employees are on the clock.

While employees are on the go, they can make notes within the solution, reference the task sheet, save pictures and log their lunch breaks. Managers can also receive notifications when employees exceed their scheduled hours on a daily or weekly basis.

Implementation/Integration

As a cloud-based solution, users can get started with Boomr in a matter of minutes.

The solution is designed so it integrates with payroll and other billing solutions. Employee hours are easily shared between Boomr and payroll so the accounting team doesn’t need to enter the same data multiple times.

Accounting/payroll integrations include:

Pricing

There is a 30-day free trial. Boomr offers three scalable pricing plans:

  • Standard ($7 per user per month with a $20 base fee): The Standard plan covers a variety of features, including a GPS-equipped mobile app, payroll reporting, unlimited access to software integrations, billing reporting and automated push/text notifications.
  • Business ($12 per user per month with a $45 base fee): The Business plan includes all Standard plan features, plus unlimited number of users and project tracking, grouping users by departments, advanced reporting features, a dedicated account manager, free 24/7 support and advanced access to new features.
  • Enterprise (contact Boomr for a quote): The Enterprise plan includes all features of the other two plans plus customized branding, API integration, customized timesheet reports and advanced workforce management functionality.

Shortcomings

Some users have noted the solution is bugged when employees clock out, and it has a tendency to freeze, which may also affect payroll integrations.

For this reason, users have asked for a feature that allows employees to manually input time rather than only doing so in real-time. Only administrators can fix time errors manually.

In addition, users have said the location tool has minor inaccuracies.
