BambooHR’s applicant tracking system (ATS) module is designed to help recruiters and hiring managers in small and medium-sized companies manage their hiring practices.

The ATS is integrated with BambooHR’s HRMS, so all a recruiter needs to do is mark the status as “hired” for hired candidates and duplicate data entry isn’t needed.

BambooHR ATS has other benefits, including:

  • More efficient hiring practices
  • Mobile-oriented job posting and company information
  • More collaboration in hiring (hiring managers and recruiters can post feedback on candidates straight from the module)

As communicating with candidates via email is an important part of hiring, BambooHR provides standard email templates that can be customized as the need arises. Recruiters and hiring managers can also send multiple emails to applicants simultaneously to save time.

In addition, recruiters can create single or multiple job postings and post them to their company websites, job boards and social media sites with a single click.

There’s also a collaborative hiring feature within the module. Recruiters can ask hiring managers to rate candidates on a five-star system and provide comments. And recruiters can control what information hiring managers can and can’t see based on access permissions.

Another key feature: BambooHR offers an employee self-onboarding module that allows new hires to complete HR forms before their first day on the job. Each new hire receives a packet of electronic forms to fill out and sign electronically, as well as welcome emails from their new manager and team. The new hire’s first day can then be focused on other introductory activities, such as learning about job roles and company culture.

Implementation/Integration

BambooHR provides a short implementation process that takes three steps:

  • Importing client’s employee data (or migrating them from client’s old system)
  • Customizing the system, such as email alerts, new-hire/termination checklists, configuring leave policies, etc
  • Deploying it live to entire company

BambooHR also provides customers with training via videos and webinars, as well as customized training.

BambooHR integrates with several applications, such as Workable, Ximble , GoodHire, Bonusly , Litmos, OfficeVibe, Boomr and LeverThis.

Customer Service & Support

In addition to email and phone support, BambooHR has a community support feature where users can communicate about the product and get answers, help with troubleshooting, etc.

Pricing

BambooHR uses a pay-per-employee per-month pricing model. It starts at $6.19 per employee per month for the Essentials package and $8.25 per employee per month for the Advantage package. The prices are discounted, based on the company size.

Clients can optionally add on the performance management module at an additional price.

Shortcomings

BambooHR’s ATS is only intended for small and medium-sized businesses. Large companies can check out our other ATS reviews, such as Greenhouse or Zoho Recruit.

The software also doesn’t offer video interviewing.
