Greenhouse At A Glance

Good: Comprehensive reports for tracking each candidate's experience; highly configurable platform; structured hiring tools like interview plans, interview kits, and scorecards that empower hiring teams to work better together.
Bad: Candidate portal is not offered.
Bottom Line: A best-in-class ATS that is used by companies to make better hires faster, and retain them longer.

Product Overview

Greenhouse is a talent acquisition suite designed to help companies make better hiring decisions. It provides many benefits, such as:

  • Saving time and money in recruiting (i.e. less reliant on outside agencies)
  • Smoother hiring process for multiple job positions
  • More structured and streamlined interviewing process with an “interview master plan” and interview scorecards
  • Companies get the full picture of each job candidate in one screen (i.e resume, application, any hiring tests taken, etc)

Greenhouse offers five different job board integrations that are powered by APIs and customized based on the company’s needs.

    1. Fully Hosted Job Board by Greenhouse
    2. Embedding Greenhouse Job Board onto the client’s site
    3. API-driven Job Board onto the client’s site with job applications hosted by Greenhouse
    4. API-driven Job Board with Greenhouse’s application form embedded onto the client’s site
    5. 100% API-driven job board for clients that want to build (and maintain) their own job application forms (Greenhouse provide client’s developers the tools to do so)

Each job board provides custom formatting options, customized application questions, the ability to auto-tag candidates, and the ability to send automatic responses to each candidate that applies for a position.

Features

Greenhouse offers many different features with sourcing, interviewing, and hiring. Some of the features are:

  • Custom hiring criteria per job
  • Sourcing dashboards that lets users track candidates sent from different referrals (third-party agencies, job fair, etc)
  • Post and track job descriptions sent to social media sites (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Post job descriptions to many job boards, such as Glassdoor or Indeed
  • Interview kits that include candidate’s resume, sample interview questions, and other key executives within the company that candidates have interviewed with
  • Candidate management database, such as resume & text search, candidate search filtering options, ability to export data to Excel, and eliminating duplicate candidate profiles
  • Features to reduce hiring bias, such as scorecards that rate key attributes of job roles, organizational planning to help interviewers assess the right skills and qualifications and ability for candidates to pre-record correct name pronunciations and indicating their preferred pronouns
  • Scoring candidates on key attributes related to job role
  • Managing offer/hiring process by tracking status of offers, using Word templates of offer letters, and offer approvals
  • Control of user permissions: Greenhouse provides permissions by site admin, job admin, interviewer, basic user, and sensitive information. Each user has access to Greenhouse (even an employee not involved with the hiring process can access to Greenhouse to help a company get outside referrals for positions) but access can be restricted to specific features, based on permissions.
  • Comprehensive reports on sourcing, interview pipeline, time-to-hire, and performance management. Reports can be exported to Excel or Google Sheets for more drill-down options. Users can connect data with their business intelligence software via a BI connector.
  • Dedicated mobile app
  • Onboarding functionality with personalized welcome experience, automated task management and new hire feedback
  • Availability in six languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese
