Product Overview
The Brother DS-940DW Duplex Mobile Scanner lets users scan documents from home, the office or on the go. It has a single-sheet feed and can scan single- and doubled-sided documents at up to 16 ppm in both black and color. The device also comes with an embedded rechargeable battery.
The DS-940DW supports both USB and wireless connectivity and it accommodates a variety of documents, such as receipts and ID cards. The minimum document size is 2″ x 3.4″ and the maximum size is up to 72″. The scanner has a duty cycle of 100 pages per day. It also supports a variety of scan-to destinations, including email, OCR and micro SD cards. Users can scan to cloud services (Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote) via Brother’s iPrint&Scan app.

Features
The DS-940DW has many advanced features for optimizing images and text, such as automatic color detection, image rotation, blank page detection, automatic cropping, automatic de-skew, background removal, bleed through detection, hole punch removal, text enhancement and color dropout. It also includes TWAIN and WIA drivers for PC and ICA and SANE drivers for Macs. Bundled software includes OCR, BR-Receipts, Brother iPrint and Scan, Kofax Power PDF Standard, Presto! BizCard and Kofax PaperPort. Users are able to turn scanned documents into editable Microsoft Word files.
Finally, there’s a one-year limited warranty, and Brother offers free online, phone and live chat support.

Shortcomings
While users can scan documents via Wi-Fi, the DS-940DW doesn’t support Bluetooth connectivity.
