Product Overview
The P 800 and P 801 black-and-white single function printers joins the Ricoh Value Devices lineup. Values Devices provide intuitive and easy-to-maintain features. Users can easily set up the printers, using the installation wizard, as well as use Ricoh’s integrated workflow solutions for efficient printer maintenance. The Value Devices also offer long-life drum and higher-yield toner cartridges that contribute to lower operating costs.
The P 800 prints at up to 57 ppm, while the P 801 has a speed of up to 62 ppm. Both printers have a warmup time of 25 seconds and a first-page-out time of six seconds. There is a 1.3 GHz processor, 2 GB of memory (not expandable) and an optional 320 GB hard drive. PCL and PostScript (emulation) printing languages is supported, but the Genuine Adobe PostScript is optional.
Connectivity includes USB, Ethernet and optional wireless. Mobile printing is also supported via Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print apps.
More details is in our Features section below.
Features
Paper input starts with a 500-sheet tray and a 100-sheet bypass tray. Ricoh offers the option of adding up to four 500-sheet paper trays for a maximum capacity of 2,600 sheets. There’s also an optional caster table for a floor-standing configuration.
The bypass tray supports envelope and banner printing, while the other trays supports paper up to 8.5″ x 14″. Automatic duplexing is standard. The output paper capacity is 500 sheets, and there are no finishing options.
The P 800 and P 801 printers have a wide range of security features, such as locked print, hard disk drive data overwrite, LDAP authentication, address book encryption and IP filtering.
The P 800 and P 801 ships with a starter toner with 10,000 page and 11,000 pages, respectively. Both devices have the same regular-yield (25,500 pages) toner. In addition, the P 801 has a high-yield (40,000 pages) toner.
We don’t have prices of the consumables to calculate the cost per page. However, Ricoh has history of providing low operating costs, but users can help minimize them by using the printer’s environmental features (e.g., duplexing).
