Product Overview

Epignosis specializes in developing flexible, efficient and affordable eLearning solutions for companies of all types and sizes. Epignosis’ suite of products includes eFront, an advanced enterprise-grade LMS, TalentCards, a microlearning solution for delivering bite-sized training, and TalentLMS, an award-winning cloud LMS that will be the focus of this review.

TalentLMS is a cloud-based learning management system that helps small and midsize businesses provide training programs. Administrators can build a public homepage and customize their portal to include branding, such as logos, colors and a custom domain. Because the software sits on a multitenant architecture, companies can develop separate learning portals (“branching”) with their own courses, users and branding.

TalentLMS has an intuitive user interface that doesn’t require advanced technical knowledge. Here are a few of its other benefits.

  • Accessiblilty from any device, including a mobile app that supports offline activities
  • GDPR compliance and other robust security features
  • Integration to over 200 applications via Zapier, such as conferencing tools, payment gateways, HRMS systems and collaboration tools
  • Multilingual capability

We also want to briefly mention Epignosis’s other eLearning solutions, eFront and TalentCards.

eFront is a highly customizable learning management system (LMS) for enterprises that offers unrivaled ease and flexibility to fit all brand specifications and train masses of employees, partners and customers. It has many features, including gamification, blended learning, eCommerce and videoconferencing.

TalentCards is an advanced mobile-learning solution that delivers microlearning content via smart learning cards. These cards can be enriched with bite-sized information in the form of text, image, video, audio or hyperlinks, and combined into sets to produce topic-specific training for different audiences. TalentCards also offers rich gamification features and post-course evaluation and reporting options.

Features

Similar to eFront, TalentLMS allows instructors to build reusable courses by importing content from different sources and in various formats (e.g., documents, videos, YouTube). Note that HTML5 content can only be imported via a SCORM or xApi package.

Instructors can purchase premade content via the Courses Marketplace. In addition, TalentLMS has a built-in feature called TalentLibrary, which is a library of ready-made courses on soft skills training. Each course is approximately two to three minutes and has stories built on memorable context and features unique characters. TalentLibrary has topics geared toward sales, customer service, marketing, project management and HR roles, and it plans to release new courses each quarter.

There is also an assessment engine that supports multiple types of questions, quizzes, assignments, surveys and tests with extensive reporting options on all results.

TalentLMS supports blended learning, so users can track both offline (instructor-led training) and online training programs. They can set up recurring offline classes and allow learners to register for the courses themselves. The notification engine automatically reminds learners of new offline training sessions and alerts instructors when learners have registered for a course. Companies can also deliver virtual training/webinars, as TalentLMS integrates to videoconferencing solutions like Zoom, BigBlueButton and GoToMeeting.

It also provides social learning features, such as personal messaging, discussion forums and gamification. The gamification engine allows instructors to customize the gaming experience by including badges, points, rewards and leaderboards within courses.

TalentLMS’s reporting features let instructors analyze learner performance and course success by tracking real-time data and creating custom reports. These reports can then be exported into Excel or scheduled for email delivery. Instructors can also track metrics, such as course completion or test pass rates, via TalentLMS’ unique infographic, which also has a built-in return on investment calculator. Learners can measure their own progress and achievements, too.

Some additional features include personalized learning paths, certification programs and eCommerce functionality that companies sell courses via PayPal or Stripe. Personalized learning paths is done by creating a branch and adding courses for branch members or by assigning courses to users according to their test scores.
