SmartRecruiters is an end-to-end talent acquisition suite designed to help recruiters and hiring managers make better hiring decisions. It includes several benefits, such as:

For small businesses, there is the SmartStart solution. SmartStart is a free plan that some features of SmartRecruiters, such as team collaboration, a careers website and one-click job postings to over 200 boards. One limitation of SmartStart is that it only allows recruiters to manage up to 10 active jobs; if they’re managing more than that, they’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.


Here are some of the key features of SmartRecruiters:

First, recruiters and hiring managers can create their own company-branded career website. SmartRecruiters has a drag-and-drop interface for adding text and images. The career website can be deployed to a desktop, tablet or mobile device.

Recruiters can also post job descriptions and applications to more than 200 job boards, including Monster, Indeed and LinkedIn. Candidates can easily apply for the job with one click by either uploading their resume or adding their LinkedIn or Indeed profiles.

There is also a branded candidate portal, where applicants can fill out applications, contact the recruiter and keep apprised of the status of their application. The portal provides candidates complete transparency of the process.

To encourage collaboration among the recruiters, hiring managers and interviewers, there is a social feed, where they can provide feedback on a candidates, exchange private notes and get alerts on upcoming interviews. The hiring team also has access to each candidate’s profile, such as resumes, applications, interview notes, comments and background check results all in one place.

There are several features that helps recruiters manage their recruiting efforts. First, they can source candidates through SmartRecruiters’ advanced Referrals Engine, where their company’s employees can provide referrals of their friends or former co-workers. Also, they can manage recruiting activities from one platform, such as scheduling interviews, requesting background checks or compare feedback on candidates from members of the hiring team.

Recruiter can also source candidates on LinkedIn Referrals portal. They can keep track of candidate application and communication from LinkedIn straight from SmartRecruiters.

Smart Recruiters also provide an analytics tool that help recruiters optimize their hiring process. They can measure key metrics, such as advertising spend, candidate demographic data or job board performance. Insights can be shared with the hiring team or top executives.

There is also a Native Interviewing Scheduler allows recruiters or coordinators to automatically find the right interview slots across multiple interviewers’ schedule, including free/busy check, as well as scheduling resources and rooms. Our advanced scheduling wizard is compatible with Outlook and Google calendars.

And finally, SmartRecruiters has a dedicated mobile app on iOS and Android devices so that recruiters and hiring managers can access the same features while they’re away from the office.

SmartRecruiters now has a native onboarding solution called SmartOnboard that includes a customizable new hire portal where new employees can fill out paperwork, meet their new colleagues and get familiar with their company and job role. Some of its features include document management with e-signature functionality, automated workflows and progress tracking. SmartOnboard can be integrated with a company’s existing HRMS solution.

We also want to note that while video interviewing functionality isn’t natively available, it can be integrated to SmartRecruiters as a third-party application.

SmartRecruiters offers three implementation packages, depending on the company size. They are:

  • Smart Standard – The Smart Standard package is designed for small-to-medium companies. It includes dedicated project management functionality.
  • Smart Premium – The Smart Premium package is designed for medium-to-large companies. It includes dedicated project management, future state hiring processes design and technical integration consultation.
  • Smart Platinum – The Smart Platinum package is intended for enterprise companies. It includes all components of the Premium package, but adds an onsite workshop on SmartRecruiters.

SmartRecruiters also offer training packages that, similar to the implementation packages, are intended for specific company sizes.

  • Standard – Intended for small businesses, the Standard package includes training specialist support, web-based training, reference materials, and specific training for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Premium – The Premium package is designed for SMBs and large companies that want to phase out the SmartRecruiters launch. It includes all features of the Standard package, plus interviewer training and custom user guides.
  • Platinum – The Platinum package is intended for enterprise companies. It includes onsite training, unlimited attendees to a training, custom product guides and subject matter expert in-depth training.

The SmartRecruiters Marketplace is a source of over 350 third-party tools and services, such as job boards, background checks, human resource management systems (HRMS) and video interviewing. Users can access the third-party tools within SmartRecruiters without having to go back and forth between systems.

Customer Service & Support

SmartRecruiters offers three support packages: Standard, Premium and Platinum.

  • Standard – The Standard package includes access to an online help center that houses resources such as self-help tools, virtual training or news of product updates. Users can also contact support from their portal or by email.
  • Premium – The Premium package includes ongoing consultations and training and other advanced support.
  • Platinum – The Platinum package includes access to dedicated Senior Support Agent and Senior Customer Success Manager, 24/7 global support with quick turnaround times and proactive account management.

Although there is the SmartStart plan for low-volume hiring, SmartRecruiters is mainly intended for companies that have high-volume hiring needs, particularly larger companies with multiple locations. Companies interested in SmartRecruiters should bear in mind that the SmartStart plan does not have some of the advanced features of the paid plan.
