Product Overview

Paycor Recruiting (formerly Newton Software) is an applicant tracking system (ATS) designed for small to medium-sized businesses with in-house recruiters. It’s a cloud-based solution with a mobile-ready interface for access on any device.

The solution has a built-in recruiting dashboard to track the entire recruiting lifecycle from job postings to onboarding. Recruiters can organize scheduled interviews, manage thank-you letters and request job approvals via intuitive dashboards. Interview scheduling is a strength with integrations to Microsoft Outlook and Gmail. Interview scorecard functionality allows employers to organize interview kits, strategically score and rank applicants, and measure the success of internal interviewers in picking the best talent.

Paycor Recruiting places a strong emphasis on mobile recruiting. All software features are accessible from a mobile device without having to install and download any special apps. The solution automatically displays the information in an appropriate screen size in an easy-to-read format. Paycor Recruiting also offers a mobile-optimized branded career page and job application features so candidates can easily apply for openings.

In addition, Paycor Recruiting helps companies stay in compliance by providing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) tracking tools. It also integrates with third-party providers, such as payroll systems, human resource management systems (HRMS), background checking websites and assessment sites.

Recruiters can post job openings on job boards and social networking sites directly from the software with a built in employee referral app that creates a gamified contest for internal employees.

Paycor Recruiting has many features. Here, we’ll focus on several of its key features.

First, the Echo feature allows hiring managers to respond to recruiters’ requests without having to log into the solution. Hiring managers can review candidates’ resumes, give feedback about interviews and accept or reject candidates via email. The system automatically updates any statuses (e.g., automatic scheduling of an interview once a hiring manager selects the candidate) and tracks any comments.

The Interview Scorecards improves new hire quality, capturing quantitative and qualitative feedback from interview teams to create a hiring “Batting Average.” Employers have the tools to measure hiring managers, interviewers, and recruiters who are statistically prone to making the best hiring decisions.

Paycor Recruiting also offers flexible workflow and approval processes. The “Green is Go. Red is No.” system is used to show whether a request is approved or denied, or whether a candidate is hired or rejected. Alerts can be sent to trigger follow-ups or another course of action. This also increases hiring manager engagement and drives the decisions that drive hiring.

Implementation/Integration

New clients work with Paycor’s implementation team on a customizable implementation process. However, here are the basic steps it takes to get Paycor live:

  1. There’s an implementation meeting where Paycor gathers client requirements and other data, and provides them with a implementation schedule.
  2. Paycor undergoes a database verification and configuration process to input the client’s employee information and configure the software to the client’s specifications.
  3. Paycor offers two training options: instructor-led online training or live classroom training in any of its locations.
  4. Paycor tests the system by performing a payroll run and compares that to the client’s older system for verification. Clients can also test the software as well.
  5. Paycor goes live.

Customer Service & Support

Clients work with the customer support team on troubleshooting, HR best practices and other inquiries. Clients’ employees can access the help center to get answers on frequently asked questions and view other resources. They can contact Paycor for tech support issues, but are advised to contact their employer on HR-related inquiries (such as questions about their pay stubs).

Paycor offers ongoing training via webinars on both its product and general HR best practices. It also provides the HR Center of Excellence Web Summit, a three-day series of webinars that gives HR professional tools and continuing education credits to help them perform better at work.

Finally, Paycor recognizes that every organization has unique needs and complexity levels. That’s why its quarterly enhancements include new features directly from customers. Over 40% of new features come from client ideas and suggestions.
