Product Overview

This review will focus on PeopleMatter SCHEDULE. We’ve reviewed PeopleMatter LEARN in our LMS section.

PeopleMatter SCHEDULE is an employee scheduling software for service-oriented industries, such as retail, food and hospitality. The software works in four steps:

  1. Manager creates the schedule with SCHEDULE’s schedule maker, templates or availabilities feature
  2. Manager sends out schedule to all employees electronically
  3. Manager coordinates any shift changes or time-off requests
  4. Manager finds ways of making scheduling better, such as with reports, forecasting or cost control

PeopleMatter SCHEDULE provides several benefits, such as:

  • Reducing labor costs, as reporting and analytics can help managers see what worked with scheduling and what didn’t
  • Electronic scheduling so there are no hassles with using paper schedules
  • Multiple ways of communicating schedules to employees and finding last-minute replacements (e.g., smartphone app, text, email, SCHEDULE’s built-in digital assistant)
  • Mobile app so employees can check their schedules and request time off
  • Ease of maintaining employee schedules if company has multiple locations
  • Improved customer service, since scheduling software helps determine if enough employees are available during busy shifts

SCHEDULE integrates with third-party point-of-sale systems, as well as time and attendance software, so managers can pull data from either solution to guide them in better shift coverage.

There are many features in PeopleMatter SCHEDULE, including:

  • Templates for creating new schedules or reusing older ones
  • Availabilities feature for viewing employee availability across locations, jobs and time-off requests
  • Ability to change schedules on the fly
  • Ability for managers and employees to track time-off requests anytime, anywhere
  • Ability to black out specific dates so employees can’t request time off during busy periods
  • Ability to hide shift start/shift end times from employees
  • Ability to add unassigned shifts to weekly schedules
  • Ability to assign tasks to employees
  • Built-in voice-controlled digital assistant (Call D) for checking and managing schedules
  • Mobile employee and manager contact list
  • Reports that can be drilled down from companywide to employee level
  • Real-time alerts/notifications so businesses can stay compliant
  • Ability to adjust permissions to see who can view/manage schedules
