Saba’s talent development solutions put people and teams in the driver’s seat of their own experience, while staying aligned to their business goals. People are continuously empowered and motivated to be their best, and talent development is locked in to what the organization wants to accomplish.  Saba designs learning experiences to impact performance, and inspire performance through a development mindset, providing a hyper-connected talent development experience and connecting people to business success.

Saba offers several modules and we’ll focus our review on its Performance solution.

Saba Performance provides ongoing performance management capabilities to feed an employee development experience aligned to corporate strategy. It connects to Saba’s Learning solution to provide employees access to training and skill development opportunities.

The module offers real-time analytics and reporting to track key talent metrics and measure the impact of talent programs on performance. We detail its features in our Features section below.


Goal Management: Organizations can set their business objectives so that the employees can see how their own goals align with those objectives. The employees and managers can track those goals continuously and revise them as needed.

1:1 Meetings and Check-ins: This module helps managers engage in impactful discussions with their employees. Saba offers configurable open-ended questions and conversation starters, automated agendas that capture new items and flag ongoing discussions, and meetings notes.

Employee Feedback: Employees can request feedback on their performance from their peers. They can also share feedback on their colleague’s performance. There is also the peer rewards feature that let employees give points along with the feedback; the points is accumulated and redeemed in a rewards store that’s built into the platform. Additional features include custom surveys and notifications.

Performance Reviews: Managers can build their performance evaluations using the form builder. The form builder pulls in data like competencies, job descriptions, and goal and development processes. Managers can add in scoring options such as open-ended questions or rating scales. The software also has built-in tools that assist the manager in creating a performance evaluation.

360-degree Feedback: In this module, manager can source an employee’s feedback from multiple sources, including clients or vendors. Administrators can customize the feedback gathering workflow including who can see and share feedback. Saba sends notifications and reminders to the people that are providing feedback.

Saba Performance also integrates to these modules:

Real-time Engagement Insights: Saba’s organizational pulse survey solution makes it easy for organizations to gather feedback from employees on the impact that their Talent Development programs are having on employee engagement. By measuring engagement metrics on a regular basis, organizations will have a greater understanding of their employees’ needs so they can take the right actions to improve the employee experience.  Key capabilities include pulse surveys, pre- or post-class surveys, customized engagement surveys, dashboards and heatmaps, and action plans.

Saba Compensation:  Saba’s compensation solution provides insight into employee performance, market and historical compensation information, so that employees can be rewarded in a way that’s fair and accurate.  Key capabilities include manager dashboards, budget planning and forecasting that handles multi-national and multi-currency, smart and automated workflows, and real-time reporting.

Saba Succession: Saba’s Succession solution helps organizations quickly assess the health of the organization and fill skill gaps, engage and develop employees for future roles, and fill roles created by unexpected departures quickly. Key capabilities include talent pools, development plans, career planning, candidate assessments, talent dashboards, and reporting and analytics.

To create a great employee experience form the start, Saba has developed and refined a proven implementation process, where a dedicated Saba Business Consultant partners with the customer to understand their business objectives and designs the implementation requirements to meet those goals. In addition, the Saba Business Consultant provides expert guidance on how to best introduce Saba into the organization, as well as offering a blend of onsite and self-paced training for employees, managers and administrators.

Depending on the size and scope of the implementation requirements, Saba also offers standard implementation services for each of its product areas.

Saba offers support in the following ways:

  • Dedicated Customer Success Manager that helps ensure client success throughout the customers entire partnership with Saba.
  • Customer Support: All Saba customers have access to 24/7 customer support via the phone and an online support portal, where they can search for relevant information, submit questions and log a ticket with the support team.
  • Value-added Strategic Services: These services are designed to help customers adopt Talent Development best practices
  • Saba’s Online Customer Community: Saba customers have 24/7 access to an online community that consists of live and on-demand product training, job aids, release updates, enhancement requests, peer networking, and more.
  • Regional User Group Meetings: Throughout the year Saba hosts user group meetings in locations across the globe, where customers can learn best practices and network with other Saba customers.
  • Annual customer conference: Each year, Saba hosts a customer conference where customers can learn and share best practices in talent development, network with their peers, and gain insight into Saba’s product roadmap and strategy.
