Product Overview
The MX-B557F ($9,330) joins the Sharp A4 lineup as a black and white MFP with standard printing, copying, scanning and faxing functions. It prints and copies at up to 55 ppm, and it has a first-copy-time of 4 seconds. The device includes a 10″ touchscreen with accessible settings, such as the Easy Mode feature that’s displayed in large, visible tiles. In addition, there’s a 1.2 GHz processor, 2 GB of memory (expandable up to 6 GB) and a 500 GB hard drive.
PCL and PostScript printing languages are supported. USB and Ethernet connectivity is standard, and wireless is optional. Users can directly print files (e.g., PDF, JPEG, Microsoft Office) from a mobile device, file server or USB drive, as well as print from and scan to cloud services, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox and Box. In addition, the Synappx Go mobile app connects with the MX-B557F, so users can print from their smartphones and release print jobs at the device.
The MFP has a compact design to fit on desktops, but users have the option of purchasing addition paper trays for a floor-standing configuration.
