Product Overview

Sage People is a cloud-based human capital management (HCM) solution that allows midsize organizations to effectively manage their global workforce. Companies can engage their entire workforce whether hybrid, remote or somewhere in-between with agile software that flexes to their business needs.

The software is hosted on the Salesforce App Cloud, which means an organization’s IT staff won’t need to worry about hosting or updates and will have peace of mind knowing the platform is Salesforce secure. It supports advanced security features, and it complies with U.S. and other countries’ regulatory standards (e.g., EEO, OSHA). The software also accommodates 21 languages out of the box, as well as an unlimited number of currencies, and gives organizations the freedom to integrate with their existing systems.

Sage People includes highly configurable people management features that allow organizations to create global policies that adapt to local regulations (e.g., remote work). It has role-based or team-based permissions where users can access relevant communications and information, and it also has adaptable workflows for approvals and other workforce management processes.

Sage People is an end-to-end solution that provides:

  • HR and people analytics
  • Payroll
  • Talent acquisition
  • Attendance and leave management
  • Employee recognition and compensation
  • Benefits administration
  • Performance and talent management
  • Workforce experience management

Here are some of the key features of Sage People.

HR and people analytics – Customizable dashboards give employees and managers custom experiences based on their roles and regions. Managers can get real-time workforce insights on metrics, such as attrition, absence trends or employee performance plus get custom feedback from employees through surveys and polls. They can use data visualization tools to easily create graphs, charts or tables, and they can drill down into the data and run what-if analyses to aid in smarter people decisions.

Talent acquisition – Recruiters can efficiently manage the hiring and onboarding process. They can create a job posting and send it to multiple social networks and job boards in a few clicks. The software has automated workflows for resume parsing, approving new requisitions and reference checks. Recruiters can keep up a steady talent pipeline by identifying internal and external candidates from multiple sources and grouping those candidates into different talent pools.

Additional features include branded career portals, custom communications with candidates, skills-based assessments and hiring manager feedback. Recruiters can onboard new hires directly from the software with custom forms, electronic signatures and automated reminders.

Attendance and leave management – Employees can track their leave and request time off via the self-service portal, and send an automatic notification to their manager for approval. In addition, they can record their time with custom timesheets that can integrate with payroll software. The feature includes configurable absence policy settings that accommodate different regulations and geographic locations, and managers can track absences by employee or team. It integrates with the HR and people analytics functionality, so managers can identify and analyze absence trends and costs.

Employee recognition and compensation – Organizations can set reward planning workflows to meet specific business needs and retain employees with reward planning. Managers can review and recommend new salary amounts or bonus structures based on the budget data.

Benefits administration – Companies can get a complete view of benefits across the organization, streamline processes that save HR time, and give employees a personalized and guided benefits experience. HR teams can determine enrollment eligibility based on configurable rules and use predefined workflows to automatically change an employee’s pay and benefits. They can also provide employees with a rewards statement that communicates the total benefits package.

Payroll – Businesses can cut out complexity and pay their employees on time, every time. Sage People Payroll can be used in the U.K. and U.S., making it easier to meet their global payroll needs. They can also securely connect and integrate with other payroll solutions and service providers to get their global workforce paid on time.

Performance and talent management – Sage People includes performance management functionality that supports both the traditional review cycle and continuous feedback. Organizations can establish companywide or departmentwide goals and objectives that can update in real time in response to changing business needs. Managers can source 360-degree feedback from the employee’s colleagues or clients, and employees can also provide feedback or give kudos to their coworkers.

Sage People empowers managers to hire from within and promotes employee development with the skills and competencies features. Managers can perform a search for specific skills that are relevant to a job role. Then, they can assess those skills using rating scales, nine-box grids and other tools, and set up the employee’s professional development strategy. Finally, managers can create succession plans that can update in real time.

Workforce experience management – Businesses can support flexible and remote working by ensuring their employees are always up to date, connected, and able to self-serve. In addition to seeing their vacation balances and providing peer recognition, employees can access their pay and benefits information, and communicate with their colleagues via the team directory. HR staff and managers can also measure employee engagement with pulse surveys. Employees can access the portal through a web browser or the Sage People mobile app.
