Product Overview

Ceridian Dayforce HCM is a cloud-based, end-to-end solution that offer all aspects of the HR process from recruiting and hiring employees to maintaining payroll/time & attendance to managing company benefits. It has everything in one place so users, depending on their roles, can access the specific functionality that pertains to them. Companies won’t have to worry about accessing and maintaining multiple platforms.

Benefits of Dayforce HCM include consolidated processes and reduced time-consuming tasks for HR and payroll – all of the information on an employee is in one place. Employees also benefit as they can access their personnel information (such as vacation and sick time) from a desktop or mobile device. Another benefit is that it is deployed via SaaS, so there is no additional hardware to purchase and maintain.

Features

Ceridian Dayforce HCM has several features. Here are some key ones:

Employee self-service – Employees can access their paystubs, enroll in benefits, put in for time-off requests, see their schedules and update their personal information. They can also use the Dayforce Assistant to send their requests with voice and chat commands as the Assistant uses natural language processing to provide smart responses.

Dayforce Hub – With the Dayforce Hub, HR teams can send important updates and announcements to their employees. They can personalize content that’s targeted to the entire company or to specific teams or employees.

Payroll – Dayforce has many payroll features, but we’ll focus on three of them. First, it supports global payroll, so companies with worldwide offices can manage payroll for multiple countries in a single interface. Dayforce supports up to 160 countries, so HR teams can get localized info on each country their company does business in, such as country-specific tax regulations and updates.

Then, there’s the Dayforce Wallet, an on-demand pay feature that lets employees get parts of their paycheck earlier than payday. The feature greatly benefits employees that may have unexpected expenses or simply need cash outside the normal pay cycle. Employees can simply request parts of their paycheck, as well as manage transactions, via the Dayforce Wallet mobile app. In addition, they can receive their pay via the Dayforce Wallet Card, which can be used for purchases or cash withdrawals. Because Dayforce Wallet is included within the payroll module, there’s no extra costs for employers (and employees won’t need to pay any monthly fees, either).

Finally, Dayforce offers its Managed Payroll Services for companies that don’t have the time or in-house resources to handle payroll or benefits needs. It offers three tiers with services that range from answering payroll questions to performing all payroll and tax tasks.

Benefits – Employees can access their company’s benefits offerings, as well as sign up for them, with Dayforce’s self-guided approach. The software has customizable features, so HR teams can set eligibility requirements based on company rules. Employees can research the plans that make sense for them by answering targeted questions about their medical needs. The benefits module also includes the ability to manage all benefits elections in real time and in one place, and comes with prebuilt integrations to over hundreds of insurance carriers. Finally, the Benefits Intelligence feature gives HR teams insights into their current benefits offerings by measuring forecast trends, cost-benefit analysis, best-fit plan analysis and more.

Workforce management – Managers can track attendance, create schedules, plan resources and manage labor expenses with workforce management features. Dayforce provides biometric timestamping and mobile geofencing that pinpoints the employee’s location and eliminates buddy punching and other time fraud. The absence management features let companies set absence policies and managers approve time-off requests, get alerts on unplanned absences and spot absence and overtime patterns. Finally, managers can set up and optimize shift schedules that aligns with business demands or employee skills.

Talent Intelligence – Talent Intelligence is an end-to-end platform that uses AI to help companies optimize their talent acquisition and talent management to boost recruiting and employee engagement. Recruiters can find best-fit candidates with AI screening and matching features, while HR or managers can spot skills gaps within the company and provide learning and development opportunities to help their employees improve their careers. Additional modules include onboarding, performance management, compensation management and succession planning. Finally, companies can improve their employee engagement or address turnover and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) challenges with pulse surveys that let employees provide honest and anonymized feedback.

Dayforce People Intelligence (advanced HR analytics) – Dayforce People Intelligence lets HR teams track and analyze all of their HCM data in one place. It comes with over 300 prebuilt and reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), and HR can create their own reports or dashboards with custom features. In addition, HR can improve their best practices and performances by  comparing their people data against ISO-based industry benchmarks. Finally, companies can connect their business intelligence or other third-party software with Dayforce HCM using the Analytics Data Connector.
