Workpop is a cloud-based applicant tracking system with a mission to build hiring tools that businesses and candidates love. Uniquely, Workpop provides candidates with tools to help them with their job search (such as resume feedback or leads on other jobs).

Workpop provides several benefits for both employers and job candidates, such as:

Workpop has two main plans: Hiring Essentials and Applicant Hiring System.

Hiring Essentials is a pay-as-you-go monthly subscription plan intended for companies that hire less than five people a month or are simply looking for more efficient ways of hiring. Some of the features included in the Hiring Essentials plan are automated sourcing, search, the ability to rank and filter candidates, and mobile functionality.

The Applicant Hiring System has more features and is intended for larger companies or companies that hire more than five people a month. Some of those features include a careers site, messaging platform, candidate network and customized workflow, along with onboarding features.

Features

Here are several key features of Workpop:

Automated candidate sourcing – Workpop’s automated candidate sourcing feature uses artificial intelligence to post jobs across the optimal combination of job boards, based on the job title, industry and other factors. Because Workpop automatically adjusts bids with real-time traffic data, employers won’t need to worry about manually managing the sourcing process.

Social recruiting – Employers can share their job postings on social sites, such as Twitter and Facebook. Workpop also has a reference loop feature where job seekers are asked to provide names and contact information of references. Workpop can then encourage those references to apply for open positions.

Careers site – With Workpop’s intuitive interface, employers can create a branded careers site without learning any programming. Users can add text, select colors and upload logos or other images.

Application – Workpop provides flexible ways for candidates to apply for jobs: completing employer-created job applications, uploading cover letters and resumes (since Workpop’s resume-parsing technology converts resumes to applications), and sending a video introduction. Candidates also have the option of adding references with contact information to their applications.

Search, rank and filter  – Workpop has a search, rank and filter functionality so employers can efficiently find the best candidates. The Smart Rank algorithms can pull specific applications that closely resemble what employers are looking for and place them at the top of the list. Employers can also filter and sort applications based on specific keywords. In addition to standard criteria such as years of experience, some of the filtering criteria is unique such as distance from the workplace or shift availability.

Messaging platform – Employers can communicate with candidates with the on-platform messaging system.The messaging system integrates with email and SMS, so candidates receive messages in three places simultaneously to minimize the chances of missing a message. The hiring manager can also communicate in a group conversation with a fellow colleague and a candidate, or can message multiple candidates simultaneously.

Digital onboarding – Employers can create and store new-hire paperwork within Workpop. They can also upload and electronically send documents, such as employee handbooks, offer letters, and I-9 and W-4 forms. Employers can track the status of the paperwork new hires fill out (and send reminders if necessary), and new hires can digitally sign documents. Employers can also receive background check reports on new hires straight from Workpop. Finally, the onboarding process and employee data can feed directly into payroll or HRIS systems.

Implementation/Integration

Companies that are interested in the Hiring Essentials plan can sign up for a free trial via the Workpop site. As part of its Applicant Tracking System plan, Workpop provides clients with a customized implementation process that’s based on each company’s needs and requirements.

Workpop integrates with a company’s existing systems, such as payroll systems or human resource management systems (HRMS).

Users can contact Workpop’s support team, which is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), by phone, email or live chat. Phone and live chat hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.

Workpop Inc.’s co-founder Reed Shaffner got the idea for his company from his relative’s difficult job search – mainly because applications were going into a “black hole,” and recruiters and employers never bothered to follow up with interested applicants.
