nGage At A Glance

ePath Learning offers a comprehensive suite of learning management technology and services, including its flagship ASAP LMS software. This review will focus on its nGage platform that launched in 2018.

ePath Learning nGage is a validated compliance training solution developed specifically for regulated organizations, such as life sciences and pharmaceutical companies. It helps trainers reduce the administrative burdens that complex compliance learning programs present. nGage is an intuitive, user-friendly yet robust tool for delivering proprietary training to diverse learner groups.

Features

Administrators can assign role-based user access as well as upload bulk learner data. They can also create multiple learning portals that each have its own customized branding.

nGage offers several features that ensures training programs adhere to the FDA 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance software requirements, such as audit trails, version control and automatic archiving. It also supports eSignature functionality, so learners are required to electronically sign their name after completing each course.

Trainers can create customizable learning paths for specific job roles that include required or recommended courses. They can also upload existing content or create their own courses with nGage’s authoring tools. nGage supports SCORM- and AICC-certified content, Word, PDF, PowerPoint, videos, audio and images. Trainers can choose from a variety of test question types, such as true/false or multiple choice. The content templates can be stored and reused in the future.

nGage’s other key features include reporting with automatic email delivery, mobile responsiveness and optional single sign-on.

Target Market

nGage targets regulated companies, such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and medical device manufacturers. It’s also available in a nonvalidated version for construction, transportation, healthcare and other industries. Implementation/Integration

ePath Learning ensures rapid implementation and a high-touch, ongoing client support model. Its implementation process is broken down into six phases:

1.) Analysis and Discovery – ePath Learning meets with the client’s team to take a close look at users, industry and corporate requirements, preferences for the overall look and feel of the portal, organizational structure, and reporting objectives and requirements. The vendor will listen to user stories to learn about short- and long-term goals.

2.) Training – A member of the Client Services team will host two one-hour customized training sessions for system administrators. The first training session consists of an overview of the system’s interface and features, from portal configuration to adding users. The second training session looks at options for configuring learning activities, registration operations, report creation and execution.

3.) Portal Setup – ePath Learning guides the client through the steps to set up their portal to meet the stated needs from the Analysis phase.

4.) Profiling – In this phase, using information already gathered about the organization, its hierarchy, and training initiatives, the vendor will set up the fields to categorize users for training purposes.

5.) Content – After content is uploaded to nGage, ePath Learning will make recommendations about targeted training delivery.

6.) Reporting – The vendor looks at the client’s initial reporting needs and establishes appropriate reports using standard nGage templates.

In addition to this extensive process, ePath Learning also offers data migration services.

Customer Service & Support

Each client is assigned a dedicated Client Support Specialist as a first contact for any issues. The specialist will also conduct account reviews 30, 60 and 90 days after implementation and biannually thereafter.

ePath Learning offers comprehensive LMS training via its Lifetime Training Program. Companies that participate in the program get unlimited, free tech support by phone or email.

Additional support offerings include extensive in-platform help files, a searchable knowledge base, online training videos and open enrollment training webinars.

Pricing

ePath Learning offers two pricing models, namely active user and registration type. The price per user ranges from 25 cents to $3.

Shortcomings

Although nGage can link to other survey tools (e.g., Survey Monkey), users have asked for a feature to be built into the platform so that they can store and report on the results within the LMS. A survey tool is scheduled for a future release.
