Cornerstone Learning provides a choice of instructor-led training, online training and mobile training from one platform. It can be used alone or integrated with Cornerstone OnDemand’s talent suite (for combining employee training and performance metrics), and it provides these benefits for companies:

  • Improve employee productivity by investing in employee skills and development
  • Improve employee engagement by providing specialized training program with content relevant to their roles or departments
  • Encourage employees to learn the material together with social collaboration tools

Cornerstone Learning has over 30,000 course titles to choose from. It also includes learning content management system (LCMS) developer licenses for companies that want to create their own training content.

Cornerstone OnDemand has a Content Anytime subscription of curated microlearning content to help employees gain new skills, comply with certification requirements or navigate the world of remote work. It uses machine learning to send personalized recommendations to employees based on their career development or job role. Content Anytime has a starter package of over 200 unique courses in a variety of topics (e.g., wellness, project management, Diversity & Inclusion) sourced from providers, such as Cornerstone Studio, BizLibrary and more.

Here are some key features of Cornerstone Learning:

  • Personalized learning paths: Administrators can create a learning path that’s targeted to an employee’s job role or own career development. The learning path can include prerequisites and curated content playlists, and administrators can optionally curate external content, too.
  • Course format: The software supports a variety of formats, such as video, audio, digital documents, instructor-led training and virtual reality. With the instructor-led training format, users can set up and manage the sessions, automatically register learners and integrate Cornerstone with a web conferencing solution (e.g., Skype, Cisco Webex) for a virtual classroom.
  • Social collaboration: Cornerstone Learning’s social collaboration features are similar to a social networking site. Users will have their own profiles, view a newsfeed, and post updates and comments. There is also a learning community that provides announcements and updates on new courses.
  • Compliance Management: This feature helps administrators keep track of certifications and compliance by automation (e.g., sending alerts that certifications need to be renewed). Administrators can also create customized certifications, as well as run analytics and reports on course and student performance.
  • Mobile learning: Students can access any course, transcripts or materials from a mobile device – they can be accessed offline as well as online.
  • Analytics: Users can build custom reports to track various metrics, such as course completion, popular courses and more.

Implementation/Integration

The implementation process for Cornerstone’s solutions goes in three steps: Discovery, Design and Execution.

The Discovery phase entails assessing the company’s needs through questionnaires, demos and interviews. During the Design phase, Cornerstone OnDemand presents a configuration workshop where it recommends a customer-specific design it’s built. Finally, the Execution phase is the actual deployment.

Training is provided by members of the Educational Services team – they train everyone from system administrators to managers and end users. They recommend a blended learning approach using webinars, self-paced online courses, virtual labs and live onsite training.

Customer Service & Support

Cornerstone OnDemand offers four support packages that customers can choose from: Professional Support Package, Professional Plus Support Package, Premier Support Package and Premier Plus Support Package.

Cornerstone OnDemand provides 24/7 customer support globally via its Global Product Support Team. The Global Product Support handles customer queries on troubleshooting, specific features or functions, and researching complex issues.

Customers also have access to the Knowledge base as well as the Cornerstone Success Center if they want to seek advice from other customers.

Shortcomings

Since it’s integrated with Cornerstone’s talent management solution, Cornerstone Learning may not integrate with a third-party human resource management system (HRMS) or other solution. Also, the software has robust features, so users may expect some time to get used to its ins and outs.
