Product Overview

SilkRoad Technology is a talent management solution that helps companies personalize their talent journey from recruiting to succession. It doesn’t just accommodate a traditional workforce (full-time workers), but it also supports part-time employees, seasonal workers, freelancers and contractors.

SilkRoad Technology is a flexible and scalable solution. Companies can purchase a specific module or an entire suite that integrates all functions. The modules are:

  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding
  • Performance
  • Learning

We discuss each solution in our Features section below.

Features

SilkRoad Recruiting – This recruiting system allows recruiters to post jobs via free job boards and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. One unique feature is the ability to post video job descriptions. Employers can record or upload videos on YouTube or Vimeo and embed them within the job description. Companies can also personalize their brand on candidate portals (such as posting pictures and videos about the organization).

There’s the candidate search feature that can help recruiters meet Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) goals by sourcing candidates from a database of over 800 million profiles within minutes and then providing actionable insights.

SilkRoad Recruiting also streamlines interview scheduling. Hiring teams can set their preferred availability, and recruiters can then send interview slots to candidates, who can choose a date and time from any device. Finally, the software can help recruiter boost their pipelines with marketing campaigns that let them reach passive candidates in various channels (e.g., text, emails, chats).

SilkRoad RedCarpet Onboarding – This onboarding solution is automated and paperless, and it allows new hires to complete the necessary paperwork online in order to save company time and money. Recruiters can create offer letters using dynamic templates, and they can also track signatures and approvals workflows. They can also create onboarding content that can be updated at any time.

We want to note that this solution is certified as a U.S. Department of Homeland Security employer agent, meaning employers can utilize all of the tools to ensure timely I-9 and other legal compliance. It also doesn’t pertain to just new hire onboarding, but it has features to help recruiters streamline promotions and other changes, policy management, family leave and offboarding processes. Finally, RedCarpet Onboarding has SMS functionality so users can communicate with new hires via text.

SilkRoad Performance – With this solution, employers can track and provide continuous feedback in addition to yearly or quarterly performance reviews. Managers can track goals, check-ins, feedback and expectations within a single dashboard. Other features include peer contributions, aligning employees’ goals and objectives with performance, succession planning and building step-by-step review processes with built-in wizards.

SilkRoad Learning – SilkRoad allows employers to offer employees a dedicated learning portal for viewing learning plans, enrolling in courses or connecting with other employees. Employers can also create custom training based on department or job roles, and training can be done online, in a classroom setting, or both. To help reduce time and cost of training, the LMS also includes course scheduling, and reporting and catalog management. Finally, the checklist feature lets managers track the progression of their direct reports’ learning paths (e.g., viewing statuses of each learning course).

SilkRoad also provides analytical tools in its recruiting and performance management solutions to help companies gain insight in their hiring and other employee engagement objectives.
