ApplicantStack At A Glance

Good: No-contract, pay-as-you-go plans with no penalties for canceling, rules engine that scores and ranks applications for review, new hire portal where new employees can easily complete onboarding requirements.
Bad: Not intended for staffing firms, no dedicated mobile app available.
Bottom Line: ApplicantStack Recruit and ApplicantStack Onboard include tools that help automate the many tasks involved in the hiring and onboarding processes.

Product Overview

ApplicantStack is a web-based applicant tracking system that automates the many tasks associated with the recruiting and onboarding processes. There are two products: ApplicantStack Recruit and ApplicantStack Onboard.

In ApplicantStack Recruit, recruiters can track task statuses and hiring pipeline summaries from the Home screen. They can also create job postings with either Word or the built-in text editor, and post them to multiple job boards with a single click. There’s an online questionnaire creation tool, as well as the Rule Wizard, to help recruiters go through multiple applications and rank the most qualified applicants. ApplicantStack Recruit also includes collaboration and communication tools so recruiters can easily schedule interviews, solicit candidate feedback from the hiring team and communicate directly with job applicants.

ApplicantStack Onboard streamlines the new hire onboarding process by providing a central new hire portal so new employees can easily fill out the required paperwork. Recruiters imports new hire data from the ApplicantStack Recruit platform or another system, so no new data needs to be manually entered. They can also create onboarding tasks, upload new hire forms and set reminders so users don’t forget to complete paperwork.

In addition to streamlining processes, ApplicantStack offers several benefits, such as:

  • Configurable options, including custom job forms or custom workflows
  • Cloud-based and scalable solution so companies won’t need to worry about costs and resources of hosting data
  • Affordable monthly subscription pricing plan with no contracts, so companies can cancel at any time without penalty
  • Integration to partner network for services that include video interviewing, assessments and background screening, to name a few

Features

Here are some of the key features of ApplicantStack Recruit:

Job post creation and advertising – In addition to job posts, recruiters can create a customized application and/or questionnaire. The job postings and applications can be shared to a variety of sources, such as career sites (Monster, Indeed), social media (Facebook, LinkedIn) or niche job boards. ApplicantStack also provides a branded career page that links to the client’s website.

Questionnaire – With the Questionnaire feature, recruiters can create an online questionnaire for each job using flexible question types, such as multiple choice, Yes/No, or single-line or multi-line text. The questionnaire can be saved as a template for future jobs.

Scoring – The Scoring feature is used to help recruiters better determine if an applicant is a good fit for the job. The score could be based on specific answers to an online questionnaire or specific keywords within a resume. For example, if a questionnaire asks for years of experience and the requirement is at least five years, applicants with less than five years can be automatically removed from consideration. The recruiter can create specific rules that run each time a new resume or questionnaire is submitted.

Collaboration – Recruiters and hiring managers can collaborate together during the hiring process. Recruiters can schedule candidate interviews with the hiring team, either one-on-one or in group interviews. The hiring team can add their feedback regarding resumes, applications and interviews. Recruiters can also determine which features of ApplicantStack Recruit can be accessible to hiring managers.

Other features of ApplicantStack Recruit include:

  • Job requisition approval process
  • Ability to email candidates using customizable templates
  • Resume search and parsing
  • Customizable workflows
  • Reporting tools that measure recruiting efforts

One of the key features of ApplicantStack Onboard is its new hire portal, where new hires can fill out paperwork and access information about the company. Recruiters can add documentation, such as an employee handbook, to the portal. Other features of ApplicantStack Onboard include a new hire federal and state forms library, e-signature functionality, and standard and customizable reporting tools to measure onboarding metrics.
