Kenexa Talent Suite At A Glance

Good: Appeals not just to HR and managers but to C-level executives.
Bad: Some users have reported that the IBM Kenexa interface is cumbersome and not easy to use.
Bottom Line: One of the few platforms that uses analytics and Big Data to help in hiring and developing talent.

Product Overview

The IBM Kenexa Talent Suite is the first platform offered by IBM since it acquired Kenexa in late 2012. This platform not only benefits HR and managers but also appeals to C-level executives (such as a Chief Human Resource Officer) as Big Data and analytics are used to help in finding and attracting the best employees.

The IBM Kenexa Talent Suite has the following functions integrated into its platform:

  • IBM Kenexa Talent Acquisition Suite for hiring and onboarding employees,
  • IBM Kenexa Talent Optimization Suite for performance and succession management and compensation planning, and
  • IBM Kenexa Talent Insights for HR and managers that want to perform analytics in helping attract and retain employees.

This platform also focuses on social collaboration. There is a Newsfeed component similar to Facebook and LinkedIn that allow users to post status updates, comment and/or like posts, and send messages to others.

There is also a Communities component where users can communicate with others within the network. Recruiters can even source and keep track of candidates and new employee can participate in the onboarding process straight from the platform.

Overall, the IBM Kenexa Talent Suite is a good buy for companies that want to save time and money by having their recruiting, learning, performance, and other talent management functions in a single solution.

Features

We’ve indicated some of the standard features of the IBM Kenexa Talent Suite below. In addition to recruiting, performance management, and learning features, the IBM Kenexa Talent Suite also offers:

Onboarding – The onboarding process can be customized based on the company and its employees. IBM Kenexa also offers a forms library that houses many different forms required for new employment, such as legal forms, corporate policy, etc. The onboarding solution can even be accessible from a mobile device — which can be convenient for the new employee so he or she can fill out new hire information before the first day of work.

Compensation – HR can access IBM Kenexa’s compensation modules, such as market pricing, salary structures, and compensation analysis. Customers can also access third-party compensation surveys (and even develop their own surveys) and benchmark salary data reported from different employers in major industries.

Employee engagement surveys – IBM Kenexa offers a variety of employee engagement survey products, such as the Survey Enterprise and the Survey Enterprise 360 On Cloud. Surveys can be specifically designed to meet the needs of the company and its employees — there is even a survey mobile app that allows employee to fill out the survey from their devices.

Shortcomings

Some users have reported that the IBM Kenexa interface is cumbersome and not easy to use — especially where users have to repeatedly log off the system and log back on again.

Also there are reports that customer service is not timely — there is a delayed response time from tech support, even if the issue is not severe.
