The VersaLink B605 and B615 MFP Series provide strong features for companies that need multifunctionality but doesn’t require color output. We especially like that they have an easy set up, very low operating costs and are adaptable for a mobile office.

Features

Standard paper handling for the B605 / B615 MFPs start with a 550-sheet tray and a 150-sheet bypass. Depending on the configuration selected, Xerox offers up to four additional 550-sheet trays and a 2,000-sheet high-capacity feeder. Each tray support paper size up to 8.5″ x 14″, however, the high-capacity feeder supports letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) paper.

The maximum paper capacity is 3,250 sheets. Duplexing is standard. There is also the 100-sheet duplex automatic document feeder.

Standard output is a 250-sheet tray. Xerox optionally offers a 500-sheet finisher that includes 50-sheet stapling, as well as a mailbox that consists of four 100-sheet bins. Depending on the configuration selected, the finisher and the mailbox are standard.

The maximum duty cycle is up to 250,000 pages per month on the B605 and up to 275,000 pages per month on the B615.

Scanning features include scan to email, to USB, and to network. File formats supported are PDF, PDF/A, XPS, JPEG, and TIFF. Faxing features include LAN fax, direct fax, and fax forward to email.

Xerox includes many standard security features, such as secure print, user authentication, network authentication, IP address filtering and access controls, to name several.

There is also the Simple ID feature, where users access commonly-used apps on the home screen. The user is assigned a dedicated ID and password, which they enter only once.

Xerox has a few options in terms of its aftermarket print cartridges: standard-capacity, high-capacity and extra-high-capacity. For our purposes, we calculated the cost per page based on the extra-high capacity cartridge (46,700 pages). The cost per page is just below a penny, which is extremely low.

Businesses can also keep costs down by taking advantage of Xerox’s environmentally-friendly features, such as duplexing and/or choosing its Earth Smart settings as default for printing jobs.
