Product Overview
The MX-C303W and MX-C304W joins Sharp’s color MFP lineup aimed at SMBs. Both devices print and copy at up to 30 ppm, and include standard printing, copying, scanning and faxing features. One main difference between the two MFPs is that MX-C303W has a 50-sheet reversing document feeder, while the MX-C304W includes a 100-sheet document feeder that scans both sides of a page in a single pass.
The MX-C303W and MX-C304W includes a 7″ color touchscreen interface, 600 MHz processor, 5 GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive. The first-copy-time in color is 10.8 seconds on the MX-C303W and 9.4 seconds on the MX-C304W.
PCL and PostScript printing languages are supported. USB, Ethernet and wireless connectivity are standard. The devices also support mobile printing and scanning via the Sharpdesk Mobile app.
Users can also print from and scan to cloud services, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint and Box.
Both devices include the new MFP Voice feature that allows the user to give voice commands to Alexa for various tasks (e.g., making copies).
Additional details are in our Features section below.
The MX-C303W and MX-C304W includes robust features that help SMBs copy, print and scan more efficiently.
Features
Paper handling starts with a 250-sheet paper drawer and a 50-sheet bypass. Sharp offers an optional 600-sheet paper feed unit. The maximum paper input is 2,700 sheets. Each paper tray accommodates up to 8.5″ x 14″ (legal-sized) paper.
As mentioned above, the MX-C303W has a 50-sheet reversing automatic document feeder, while the MX-C304W has a 100-sheet duplexing single-pass document feeder. The 50-sheet feeder scans at up to 40 ipm, and the 100-sheet feeder scans both sides of a document in a single pass at up to 110 ipm.
Output capacity is 150 sheets.
Printing features include duplex printing, toner save mode, electronic sorting, N-up printing, image rotation, watermarks and job retention. The serverless print release feature lets users send a job to one device yet print it from another.
Some of the copying features are scan-once print many, electronic sorting, ID card copy and auto tray switching.
Both MFPs support both black-and-white and color scanning. The MX-C304W has standard optical character recognition (OCR) functionality that converts scanned documents into files, such as PDFs and Word.
Users can scan to email, to desktop, to folder, to FTP and to USB. File formats supported include TIFF, PDF and JPEG. Users can send scans up to 100 email addresses with a single touch.
The faxing function includes a 33.6kbps modem with JBIG compression. It has a built-in 1 GB of memory.
Security features include IP/Mac address filtering, user authentication with LDAP and Active Directory, port management and protocol filtering. There’s also an end-of-lease feature that erases all personal data from the hard drive before the device is traded in.
