Product Overview

This family, released in 2012, replaced the older MP 6001/MP 7001/MP 9001 family of machine, with new features, notably, Web/cloud interface, mobile printing capability, ability of sharing a single fax line, and parts that are made from recycled steel.  This model family includes the 60ppm Aficio MP 6002 ($20,000), the 75ppm MP 7502 ($26,500), and MP 9002 ($34,500). These models are identical except for speed and price, and they offer the same list of options and accessories. The SP models are also identical except that they include printing and scanning standard, not optional as on the basic models. The list price difference between the copier model and its SP version is approximately $4,500.

The processor runs at 1GHz. The base models come with 1GB of memory, which can be upgraded to 1.5GB. The SP models come with 1.5GB standard. A 250GB hard disk drive is standard.

Warm-up time on all the models is a speedy 30 seconds on the MP 6002 and MP 7502, and 300 seconds on the MP 9002. These units have an extraordinary first-copy-out time of less than 4 seconds, with the MP 9002 coming in at 2.9 seconds.

The standard 150-sheet-capacity single-pass duplex feeder scans originals at 88ppm in both black and color. This is an advance in speed over the last generation of MP copiers.

These Ricoh Aficio MP models are excellent machines and a nice improvement over the previous generation. They offer an attractive combination of features, performance, and innovative technology. Ricoh keeps upping its line, and the results are excellent. We find the Aficio MP 6002, MP 7502, and MP 9002 family attractive in their market segments.
