Product Overview

The TASKalfa 9003i Series are the newest entries in Kyocera’s high-volume black-and-white MFP lineup. It consists of three devices that includes standard copying, printing, scanning and optional faxing. The TASKalfa 7003i copies and prints at up to 70 ppm and has a first-page-out time of 4.8 seconds. The TASKalfa 8003i prints at up to 80 ppm and has a first-page-out time of 4.1 seconds. Finally, the TASKalfa 9003i copies and prints at up to 90 ppm and has a first-page-out time of 4 seconds.

All three devices include a 1.4 GHz processor, 4.5 GB of memory and a 320 GB hard drive. There is also a 10.1″ color touchscreen interface for programming common workflows from Kyocera’s HyPAS Business Applications Suite. The suite provides features such as Cloud Connect (for scanning to and printing from the cloud) and Mobile Print. Other features are the DMS Link for keeping up with document management needs, PinPoint Scan for scanning-to-PC functionality, and Microsoft Sharepoint Connector.

PCL and PostScript is supported. USB and Ethernet is standard, but Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi are optional. The series also include mobile printing that support apps like Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and Kyocera Mobile Print.

The devices also include Kyocera Fleet Services, a cloud-based monitoring service that lets dealers perform routine maintenance tasks for their customers remotely.

Kyocera continues to improve its machines with newer and more robust features. The TASKalfa 9003i Series provides a scalable line of MFPs that’s specifically targeted for production environments that don’t require color output.

Features

Standard paper input includes two 500-sheet drawers, two 1,500-sheet trays and a 150-sheet bypass. There is a variety of paper input options, including dual 500-sheet trays, dual 1,500-sheet trays and a 3,000-sheet large capacity tray. All of these trays accept paper size up to 12″ x 18″ and the bypass tray also accepts banners of up to 12″ x 48″. The maximum paper capacity is 7,650 sheets.

Automatic duplexing is standard. The devices include a built-in 270-sheet dual-scan document feeder that scans both sides of a paper in a single pass.

There are a choice of two finishers: that each has a capacity of 4,000 sheets: the first finisher has 65-sheet multiposition stapling and the second finisher has 100-sheet multiposition stapling. Kyocera offers optional modules for either finisher, such as a 2/3-hole punch unit, optional booklet folder/tri-fold unit and a seven-bin mailbox unit with 100-sheet capacity in each bin.

Color scanning is supported, and functions include scan-to-email, to-folder, to-FTP, and to-USB. File formats include TIFF, PDF, searchable PDF, OCR, JPEG and XPS.  The optional fax function supports a 33.6kbps modem, and utilizes up to 170 MB of memory, maximum.  Internet fax is optional.

Standard security features include LDAP, network and local authentication. Kyocera offers a data security kit that provides data overwrite and encryption functions. Additional features include a secure boot, run-time integrity check, PDF encryption and an embedded Trusted Platform Module.
