Product Overview

Zangerine is a turnkey enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that helps small-and medium-sized e-commerce, wholesale and distribution companies automate their workflows. With Zangerine, companies can manage inventory, track sales and payments, and run their operations all from one platform.

Zangerine is hosted in the cloud, so companies won’t have to worry about hosting and maintaining software. Their employees can access the solution anywhere. The solution is also customizable based on an organization’s unique requirements, meaning the organization can purchase only the modules and features they need.

Zangerine includes several other benefits such as:

  • Automated processes that help increase customer service and revenue, as well as decrease overhead and expenses
  • Shorter implementation time than traditional on-premise software
  • No long-term contracts
  • Integration to third-party e-commerce, payment processing and other systems

Here are some of the modules that Zangerine offers (we’ll explain more about them in our Features section below):

  • Business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) platforms
  • Inventory management
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Purchasing
  • Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Advanced order management system
  • Business intelligence
  • Payment processing

Zangerine offers a fully integrated platform for both B2B and B2C e-commerce organizations. Zangerine designs and maintains the company’s site to make it attractive and desktop and mobile-responsive for customers. It also includes a Customer Account Dashboard, where customers can browse and order products, pay online, or download invoices and receipts. Other features include a predictive search suggestion, guest checkout, upsell/cross-sell functionality, online inventory check, abandoned cart tracking and automated featured products.

Here are the key features of each additional Zangerine module:

Inventory management – Zangerine supports an unlimited number of warehouse locations, and each product’s stock information can be stored in multiple locations. It also records the exact location of an item, and those locations are broken down into warehouse, row, shelf and bin. There’s also a virtual stock record feature, where users can import a vendor’s stock record and indicate them as virtual. Finally, other features include minimum stock level, preferred stock level and custom availability settings.

Shipping and receiving – Some of the features in this module include barcode scanning, downloadable/printable packing slips, flexible shipping cost calculations and integration to Ship Station, UPS and FedEx. It also supports drop shipping functionality (where a retailer purchases inventory directly from manufacturer or wholesaler rather than keeping them in stock).

Purchasing – In this module, users can create a purchase order with a single click by choosing the vendor and a shipping address. They can also receive low stock alerts directly from the purchasing dashboard. There’s also a vendor portal, where a vendor can track any order changes, upload their invoices or otherwise communicate directly with the user. The module also supports drop shipping and includes a custom purchase order numbering system.

Customer relationship management (CRM) – The CRM module includes a customer database where users can record and track customers on any criteria. Users can assign customers to specific groups for any reason, for example, providing coupons to a group of customers.

Users can also assign employees to specific customers within a database so they can easily look up order numbers, contact information or other relevant details. Those users can also add notes or records of phone conversations and assign them to specific customers or vendors.

Other CRM features include an advanced order search, a history of any edits within a customer order, customizable quotes and estimates, customizable net payment terms and a customer credit management system.

Advanced order management system – The two main benefits of this module are that the sales quotes process is streamlined, and users can take customer orders from anywhere. It has an advanced product search feature, where the sales team can find products and their pricing more efficiently. The sales team can also create a purchase order directly from a price quote. Other features include discounts assignment, custom notes within a product quote, detailed quote summary, conversion source tracking and reminder/expiration dates for specific quotes.

Business intelligence – In this module, users access real-time data and run reports on various metrics, such as sales performance, sales source, inventory, cash transactions and more. Zangerine has over 50 report templates, as well as customizable reports. It also integrates with Google Analytics for analyzing marketing and SEO campaigns.

Payment processing – Zangerine supports all types of payment, such as credit card, electronic transfers, checks/money orders and cash on delivery. It also integrates to all payment gateways, including Paypal and The module includes billing features, such as order generation and customer billing management.

Finally, two additional features that Zangerine offer are Contract/Tiered Pricing (that allows companies to have unlimited sets of pricing for different customers based on their group and quantity ordered for every SKU) and Quoting System (that generate, manage, and send quotes, then generate sales orders from them automatically from the email the client receives).

Zangerine (formerly NebuCore) was the child of its e-commerce development agency that specialized in creating solutions for distribution companies. After noticing a gap for a turnkey solution for SMBs, the team developed its ERP for wholesalers and distribution companies using direct feedback from existing and new clients.

Zangerine is headquartered in Salt Lake City and has over 200 customers. In 2017, it received two awards from FinancesOnline: the Great User Experience Award and the Rising Star Award.
