Sage100cloud (formerly Sage 100c/Sage 100 ERP) is geared mainly toward small and medium manufacturers, distributors and retailers that need to automate processes, connect employees and gain business insights when they need them.  

Sage 100cloud is ideal for companies that have outgrown their current accounting software or manual processes and need a business management solution to collect, store, manage and interpret data across the business.  

A subscription-based platform, Sage 100cloud offers the tools organizations need to manage products, orders, customers, finances and operations. It provides the insights companies need to reduce costs, stay in compliance, deliver value to customers and effectively manage growth. 

Sage 100cloud offers a broad range of modules to address the many needs of its customers. The customizable software includes core modules in accounting and finance, business intelligence, customer relationship management, eBusiness, human resources and payroll, manufacturing and distribution. 

A company can combine modules to build an ERP system optimized for its business, continuing to add modules as it grows.  

Sage 100cloud expands on the same features and functionality of its predecessor, Sage 100c. It is still a desktop solution that can be hosted on-premise or in a hybrid cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services. 

Sage 100cloud also offers a modernized user interface along with unique screen and desktop personalization options. The new interface is also designed around mobile technology, so users can get a more modern Sage 100 experience across multiple devices (i.e., desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones).

Organizations get instant visibility across the business, boost productivity and improve their reporting with business intelligence functionality that creates a comprehensive information management solution. 
  • Sales and Customer Management: Sage 100cloud enables companies to manage the sale funnel, improve customer satisfaction and build customer loyalty. Sales representatives get complete, up-to-the-minute information to answer every customer question, including the availability of specific units in inventory, item and quantity pricing, and more. 
  • Purchasing and Supplier Management: Organizations can streamline the entire purchasing process from order to receipt. Purchasing management for distributors creates detailed, accurate records of every purchase, including quantities, prices, identity of who places an order, and special shipping instructions. 
  • Inventory Management and Warehousing: This feature enables users to control warehouse inventories, which can reduce carrying costs, and to fulfill orders promptly. Sage offers multiple deployment options for Sage 100cloud. A company can start immediately in the cloud, maintain its own on-premise Sage deployment or leverage a hybrid approach. In all cases, an organization gets the same advanced features and functions as every other Sage 100cloud customer. Sage 100cloud integrations include Salesforce, Magento eCommerce and Office 365. 

Customer Service & Support

Sage offers phone and chat support and service from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, except holidays. Some support assets require an active Sage Business Care support plan that gives customers access to more services and personalized attention. 

Sage also offers an extensive knowledgebase, which is an online self-help site that offers up-to-date information, ideas for troubleshooting and more, as well as a 24/7 online community (Sage City) where users can ask questions, share ideas and solve issues with other Sage customers, employees and product experts. Sage University offers on-demand learning topics and comprehensive instructor-led classes.  


Sage 100cloud pricing is not available on the Sage website. Pricing depends on which package and add-ons a company selects. Adding users will increase the total cost, but reduce the per-user price. 

However, according to a third-party site, there are three pricing packages (not including implementation): 

Essentials package: $50 per user, per month, billed monthly: 

  • 1-5 users: $50/user/month 
  • 6-10 users: $47.50/user/month 
  • 11-25 users: $45.00/user/month 
  • Over 25 users: $40/user/month 

Advanced package: $61.11 per user, per month, billed monthly: 

  • 1-5 users: $61.11/user/month 
  • 6-10 users: $58.06/user/month
  • 11-25 users: $55.00/user/month 
  • Over 25 users: $48.89/user/month 

Complete package: $66.67 per user, per month, billed monthly: 

  • 1-5 users: $66.67/user/month 
  • 6-10 users:$63.3/user/month 
  • 11-25 users: $60.00/user/month 
  • Over 25 users: $53.33/user/month 


Some users have reported running into a limitation on the number of windows that can be open simultaneously. Others have noted that when the data sizes are very large (>100MB), the data export can be slow and cumbersome.

Now known as Sage 100cloud, the product was first offered in the mid-1980s by a company called State of the Art Inc., under the name Master Accounting Series for the 90s (MAS  90).  

In 1998, Sage, which was founded in 1981, acquired State of the Art Inc. and the MAS line of solutions, including MAS 500, which became Sage 500 ERP.  

In 2012, Sage announced that it would rebrand its product offerings. Beginning in 2016, Sage offered an enhanced version of Sage 100 called Sage 100c, with the “c” standing for connected, collaborative and customer focused, and the product became what Sage called a “connected cloud” product.  

In January 2017, subscription-based licensing became the only option for new sales. 

In early 2018, Sage rebranded its connected cloud C-Line and renamed Sage 100c as Sage 100cloud.  

Sage Group is headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. The company has offices in a number of countries, including the United States (the North American headquarters is in Atlanta), Australia, Canada, India and South Africa.
