AnswerRocket At A Glance

Good: Ability to work with large datasets and connect to most data sources, flexible visualization options with drill-down capability, generative AI assistant for complex data analyses.
Bad: Not intended for small businesses, some early users have reported that the software was buggy at times.
Bottom Line: Search-powered analytics platform that uses machine-learning technology and smart data discovery to enable users to find answers within their data in seconds.

Product Overview

AnswerRocket is an AI-powered analytics engine that uses machine learning to provide answers to business questions in a matter of seconds. It includes a search box, similar to Google, where users can type or speak their questions. AnswerRocket then uses AI to understand the question, retrieve the relevant data, produce insights, and present the results in an automatically selected visualization.

In addition to getting insights within seconds, the benefits of AnswerRocket include:

  • Business users can easily use AnswerRocket without having to rely on IT or their data analyst for answers
  • Intuitive interface that doesn’t require in-depth training
  • Users can drill down into any data by using custom visualization options
  • Accessible analytics via web or mobile device
  • Flexible deployment options, whether on-premise, in the cloud or in a hybrid environment

AnswerRocket can connect to any data source, regardless of size. Some examples of data connectors include Microsoft SQL Server, Excel, MySQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, Amazon Redshift, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and Salesforce.

AnswerRocket can integrate with any open AI platform, including Tensorflow, Caffe, or H20. It can leverage R and Python to automate analysis invoked by asking business questions. For example, asking AnswerRocket “How did product X do last week?” would generate a detailed analysis in seconds – work that would take weeks for a human analyst.

Features

AnswerRocket allows companies to create custom calculations and leverage machine-learning algorithms, presenting answers to the user in a simple language. Answers are saved to a user’s dashboard in seconds, which saves time in compiling dashboards.

AnswerRocket automatically creates a chart that is most relevant to the question asked. For example, if a user is looking to expand a product in a new state, AnswerRocket can visualize a map that plots out the different demographics within a state. Users are able to see the same answers visualized in different chart types, as AnswerRocket offers flexible visualization options. Users can change chart types, colors, labels and more, with a single click.

Users can also drill down into the chart, graph or other visualizations to find additional insights or answers within the data.  The Insights smart data discovery feature points out any trends or outliers within the data and displays them on the right side of the screen. There’s also the Related Questions feature, where AnswerRocket automatically generates additional questions that users can consider within their data. Both Insights and Related Questions are based on natural language processing (NLP) technology.

Users can share answers and reports by email either on an ad-hoc basis or on a customized schedule.

AnswerRocket has recently launched a new AI assistant called Max that uses OpenAI’s GPT model to provide users answers to complex data analysis questions via chat (similar to ChatGPT). Users can ask questions, such as performance on key business metrics or identifying critical issues, within their enterprise data. Some of Max’s features include custom analyses with the customer’s own data models, accommodation of both structured and unstructured data, automated routine analysis workflows and embedded within a third-party software (e.g., Slack, Teams, Power BI).
