In addition to fast engine speed, the MP C501SP includes strong features that support an office with high-volume multifunctionality.

Features

Paper handling: The MP C501SP comes with two 550-sheet trays and a 100-sheet bypass. Users have the option of adding a tandem of two additional 550-sheet trays for a maximum capacity of 2,300 sheets. The standard trays support up to 8.5″ x 14″ paper size, while the optional trays support up to letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) paper.

There’s a 220-sheet single-pass document feeder that scans both sides of a page in one pass. Its speed is 110 ppm simplex and 180 ipm duplex.

Output capacity is 500 sheets. There’s an optional 125-sheet one-bin tray. There’s also a 500-sheet internal finisher with 50-sheet multiposition stapling. A 2/3-hole punch unit can be optionally added to the finisher.

Multifunctionality: Scan-to functions include email (with LDAP support), folder (SMB and FTP), and URL. Scan-to-media is supported with a standard USB/SD card slot, which gives users the capability to scan to a USB flash drive and other similar devices. Ricoh offers optional OCR scanning for creating searchable PDFs.

There is a standard server for document management functionality that stores up to 3,000 documents, 2,000 pages per document and a maximum of 200 folders.

The optional fax kit runs at 33.6 kbps with 4 MB of memory. An additional 64 MB of memory can be added as an option. LAN fax and Internet fax is supported.

Ricoh’s optional Cloud Workflow Solutions let users download a range of applications to be placed on the Home Screen of the display panel. Users can then quickly access those apps. They also can access files from cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox for printing.

Security features: Ricoh offers a wide range of built-in security features, such as LDAP, user authentication, IP filtering, hard disk drive overwrite and unauthorized copying and printing prevention.
