Product Overview

The new MP 305SPF ($3,245) joins Ricoh’s line of black-and-white MFPs. It prints and copies at 30ppm and includes standard copying, printing, scanning and faxing. It has a first-copy-time of 4.9 seconds as well as a warmup speed of 27 seconds. The MP 305SPF includes a 533MHz processor, 2GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. PCL and PostScript is standard, while XPS direct printing is optional. USB and Ethernet connectivity is supported and users can print from or scan to their mobile devices via the Ricoh Smart Device Connector app.

The MP 305SPF includes an eye-catching 10.1″ Smart Operation Panel for automating commonly-used workflows, such as quick copying, faxing or scanning. Users can access the panel via a touch-and-swipe functionality that’s used on mobile devices. They can also customize specific one-touch workflows by selecting widgets or apps from Ricoh’s Application Site.

The MP 305SPF is ideal for small-to-medium-sized offices that don’t have a need for printing in color but still appreciate having multifunctionality in a compact device.

Features

Paper handling: The MP 305SPF includes a standard 250-sheet tray and a 10-sheet bypass. Users can optionally add a 500-sheet paper feed unit for a maximum capacity of 760 sheets. There is also a 50-sheet reversing automatic document feeder that supports duplexing. The bypass tray and document feeder supports ledger-size (11″ x 17″) paper, while the other trays only support letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) paper. Output capacity is 100 sheets and there is no finishing options.

Multifunctional features: Scan-to functions include email (with LDAP support), folder (SMB and FTP), USB/SD, digitally signed PDF, searchable PDF and URL. File formats supported include TIFF, PDF, JPEG and high-compression PDF.

There is a standard server for document management functionality that stores up to 3,000 documents, 2,000 pages per document and a maximum of 200 folders.

Faxing runs at 33.6kbps with 4MB of memory. LAN fax and Internet fax is supported.

Security features: Ricoh continues to expand its security options, including hard drive overwrite, user authentication, address book encryption, and secure print, to name a few.
