Product Overview
The TASKalfa 6002i Series are new entries to Kyocera’s black-and-white MFP lineup. They consist of three devices: the TASKalfa 4002i ($8,292), TASKalfa 5002i ($9,545) and TASKalfa 6002i ($11,228). They all offer printing, copying and scanning as standard functions with optional faxing. The engine speeds for the 4002i, 5002i and 6002i are 40ppm, 50ppm and 60ppm, respectively. First-page-out time for copies are 4.5 seconds for the 4002i, 3.7 seconds for the 5002i and 3.4 seconds for the 6002i.
The processor runs at 1.2GHz and there is 4GB of memory which can be optionally expanded to 8GB. A 320GB hard drive is standard. PCL and PostScript is supported. USB and Ethernet is standard; Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi are optional.
All three devices include a 9″ customizable color touch screen that tilts at a 90-degree angle. The touch screen works like a tablet with touch-and-swipe functionality.
There’s also Kyocera’s HyPAS software platform that provide features such as Cloud Connect (for scanning to and printing from the cloud) and Mobile Print. Other features are the DMS Link for keeping up with document management needs, PinPoint Scan for scanning-to-PC functionality, and Microsoft Sharepoint Connector.
The devices also include Kyocera Fleet Services, a cloud-based monitoring service that lets dealers perform routine maintenance tasks for their customers remotely.
The TASKalfa 6002i Series are good buys to medium, large and enterprise-sized companies that request high-volume copying and printing and doesn’t need color.
