Product Overview
Konica Minolta has recently released three new color MFPs that replace the older bizhub C454e, C554e and C654e devices. These devices include newer features, such as a 10.1″ touchscreen interface with a swiping functionality found on tablets and mobile functionality. Another new feature is an upgraded bizhub MarketPlace where users can download apps, such as the new Chameleon app (for customizing the control panel within the device).
The bizhub C658 devices all offer standard printing, copying, scanning and optional faxing. The three devices are:
- The bizhub C458 ($26,102), which prints and copies at 45ppm in black and color
- The bizhub C558 ($31,622), which prints and copies at 55ppm in black and color, and
- The bizhub C658 ($32,572), which prints and copies at 65ppm in black and color.
Each device has fast first copy out time in color: 5.1 seconds for the C458, 3.5 seconds for the C558 and 4 seconds for the C658.
All devices include 4GB of memory and standard 250GB hard drive.
PostScript and PCL printing support are standard. USB and Ethernet are standard, but wireless connectivity is optional. Mobile printing (via AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and NFC) is standard.
More details are in our Features section below.
The bizhub C658 series are intended for the medium and large organizations with mid-volume printing needs. Konica Minolta continues to upgrade each generation of devices with newer features and these devices are no exception.
Features
Paper handling: Paper handling starts with dual 500-sheet paper trays and a 150-sheet bypass. There are additional paper options, such as a 500-sheet tray, a dual 500-sheet tray set (letter size only), and a 3,000-sheet large-capacity tray. There’s an additional large-capacity tray that maxes out at 2,500 sheets. The maximum paper capacity is 6,650 sheets.
There is a standard dual-scan document feeder (scans both sides of a page in a single pass). The dual-scan feeder scans up to 240ipm and has a 300-sheet capacity. The maximum paper size is 11″ x 17″. Duplexing is standard.
There’s a standard 250-sheet output tray. There are also a few finishing options. First, there’s a 50-sheet multiposition inner staple finisher with an optional 2/3-hole punch. Second, there’s another finisher with 50-sheet multiposition stapling; however, it has a capacity of 3,300 sheets. Third, there’s a booklet finisher that saddle stitches up to 20 booklets.
There’s another stapling finisher, however, it staples up to 100 sheets and has a capacity of 3,200 sheets. There’s also an optional booklet finisher with a 100-sheet stapling capacity and 20-booklet saddlestitching.
There’s also a 30-sheet tri-fold option, as well as a job separator and a postprocess inserter.
