ERPNext Pricing: Costs and Pricing Plans

Disclaimer: We source public information for ERPNext’s pricing, including its own site. All pricing information within this resource is accurate at the time of publication.

ERPNext is an open-source enterprise resource planning (ERP) system aimed at small and  medium-sized businesses. It offers extensive functionality that’s integrated into a single platform for easy management. Some of the modules include financial accounting, Human Resource management, manufacturing, sales management, customer relationship management (CRM), project management, asset management and content management.

In this post, we’ll discuss the ERPNext pricing model in more detail.

Is ERPNext Open Source Free?

ERPNext’s open source, on-premise plan is free to download and install, and it includes all of its modules. However, it doesn’t offer free support. Users that require professional customer support can purchase a contract that covers priority bug fixes, in-app support, help during software upgrades and security alerts. Even though the software is free to install, companies will have to consider the labor costs of installation and maintenance.

ERPNext Pricing Plans

ERPNext has two paid plans: Managed Hosting and Enterprise.

Managed Hosting

The Managed Hosting plan is a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution that starts at $10 per site, per month. It covers all modules, security updates and server monitoring. Users can also purchase an optional product warranty that includes timely fixes to any critical software bugs. ERPNext offers a 14-day free trial.

Enterprise

The Enterprise plan offers additional features, such as professional support and personalized onboarding. It has three pricing tiers (based on annual billing):

  • Basic – The Basic tier costs $12,000 per year for up to 20 users and accommodates a single subsidiary. It includes email support, a product warranty, business requirements mapping, project management, setup and configuration, data migration and paid training. There’s an additional $50 per-hour fee for implementation.
  • Professional – The Professional tier costs $24,000 per year for up to 50 users and accommodates up to 10 subsidiaries. It includes all of the features of the Basic tier, plus a sandbox environment, support during local business hours, an account manager, features enhancements, proof of concept, custom development, third-party integration and personalized training.
  • Advanced – The Advanced tier costs $38,400 per year for up to 100 users and accommodates an unlimited number of subsidiaries. It includes all of the features of the Professional tier, plus 24/7 Enterprise support, access to ERPNext’s product team, custom legal terms and data residency.

Within each tier, there’s an additional $24 per-user, per-year fee for employee self-service.

Other Costs to Consider

Implementation

Users on the Enterprise plan will need to purchase implementation services. As mentioned, the Basic tier’s implementation fee starts at $50 per hour and includes business requirements mapping, project management, setup and configuration, data migration and paid training. The Professional and Advanced tiers add on a sandbox environment, an account manager, custom development and personalized training. Implementation pricing for both tiers aren’t publicly available, so you’ll need to contact ERPNext directly for a quote.

Conclusion

ERPNext provides flexible pricing options that include all of its modules. Companies that prefer the open source version will need to keep in mind any labor and other costs in customization and maintenance, and that the vendor doesn’t offer free support. The Managed Hosting plan may be a good fit for organizations that don’t want to host the software and aren’t looking for premium support. Finally, companies with more custom needs and require premium implementation and support services can consider the Enterprise plan.
