About
Rushabh Mehta, founder of ERPNext and Frappe, started the company in 2008 to distribute the ERP platform that he was configuring for his family business. In 2010, he named the project ERPNext and launched it on a software-as-a-service business model.
Encountering open-source development difficulties, Mehta moved from Google Code to GitHub in 2011. By 2012, the company had started positioning itself more as an open-source ERP and a year later, revamped its deployment architecture and gave out free virtual machines for users to evaluate and use. Today, the company has more than 1,000 people on its discussion forum and ERPNext is used by thousands of companies around the world.
Frappe is based in Mumbai, India.
