1010data At A Glance
Big data discovery within the same analytical platform is what 1010data is all about. Users have access to all data in the same system it’s stored in – useful if they need quick data analysis and take immediate action that could affect their business.
1010data provide flexible data integration technology, which means the users need not to worry about time-consuming data cleaning, relational modeling, or database design. Users can simply load raw data right into the platform and begin analyzing.
For users who like the feel of Excel spreadsheet, there is 1010data’s proprietary Trillion Row Spreadsheet interface. This interface allows for analyzing data “on the fly” and users can upload new data at any time. There is no limit to size and it can handle simple and complex data. As the Trillion Row Spreadsheet is included in 1010data’s platform, users can allow other users to access data and formulas. And as this interface is available in the Cloud, users will not need to worry about slow lead times or software crashing. Also within the Trillion Row Spreadsheet interface, users can perform visualization, such as creating charts and graphs.
1010data offers a variety of technical interfaces, such as Excel add-in, TenDo (for running queries via Windows), TenUp (for extracting and loading data), TenDash (for dashboards) and APIs. There is also the QuickApps framework that allows users to create, define, and share widgets – those widgets are then used for dashboards and further analysis. 1010data reports that the QuickApps Visual Editor will be available later this year. This will allow the user to run applications using the drag-and-drop functionality.
We’ve indicated several of 1010data’s standard features below. However, we want to mention that it offers more advanced analytical functions, such as geographic, multidimensional, regression, clustering, data mining, and text mining.
We also want to mention that for analysts using the statistical R functions, 1010data now allows for working with 1010data features within the R console.

Customer Service & Support
Users can contact 1010data via email or phone for support. Users can also set up an account via 1010data’s site.
1010data’s services are focused in certain industries such as retail. However, it is starting to expand in other markets, including government, healthcare, and gaming.
A unique feature of 1010data is its Excel-like interface, which can be an issue for analysts who favor visualization tools and don’t want to look at rows and rows of data. 1010data has recently begun to expand on visualization features in its last software update. A new partnership with Tableau should help 1010data in its focus on having advanced analytical features and visualization in one place.
1010data was one of the early leaders of Big Data – offering a Web-based analytical solution that utilizes Big Data as early as 2000. Their first major customer was the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), which utilizes hundreds of data sets. 1010data’s specialty is delivering Big Data solutions in a quick, efficient, and inexpensive manner. It has received recent accolades, such as InformationWeek’s Top Big Data Analytics Player and Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) Editor’s Pick for 2014.Download Vendor Comparison Guide
