Product Overview

The P 502 printer joins Ricoh’s new lineup of Value Devices that provide intuitive and easy-to-maintain features. Users can easily set up the printers, using the installation wizard, as well as use Ricoh’s integrated workflow solutions for efficient printer maintenance. The Value Devices also offer long-life drum and higher-yield toner cartridges that contribute to lower operating costs.

The P 502 prints at up to 45 ppm and includes a tiltable LCD control panel. It has a fast 19-second warmup time and a first-page-out time of five seconds. There is a 1.3 GHz processor, 2 GB of memory (not expandable) and an optional 320 GB hard drive. PCL and PostScript printing languages are supported. USB and Ethernet is standard, while wireless is optional.

Mobile printing is also supported via Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print apps. For Android device users, the Near Field Communication (NFC) feature is standard.

More details is in our Features section below.

Features

Paper input starts with a 500-sheet tray and a 100-sheet bypass tray. Ricoh offers the option of adding up to three 500-sheet paper trays for a maximum capacity of 2,100 sheets. There’s also an optional caster table for a floor-standing configuration. The maximum duty cycle is 150,000 pages.

The bypass tray supports envelope and banner printing, while the other trays supports paper up to 8.5″ x 14″. Automatic duplexing is standard. The output paper capacity consists of two trays: a 250-sheet tray and a 500-sheet tray. There are no finishing options.

The P 502 printer has a wide range of security features, such as locked print, hard disk drive data overwrite, LDAP authentication, address book encryption and IP filtering.

The printer ships with a 17,400-page black toner. We don’t have prices of the consumables to calculate the cost per page. However, Ricoh has history of providing low operating costs, but users can help minimize them by using the printer’s environmental features (e.g., duplexing).

Finally, the P 502 printer includes the Ricoh Device Manager NX Lite software that helps offices track printer usage and other settings from a computer.
