Product Overview

Kyocera has released a new series of A4 (8.5″ x 14″) black-and-white MFPs targeted to the medium and large workgroups. The ECOSYS M3860idnf Series consist of two devices that offer standard copying, printing, scanning and faxing functions. The ECOSYS M3860idn copies and prints at up to 62 ppm and has a first-page-out time of 4.5 seconds. The ECOSYS M3860idnf has similar specs but includes an inner finisher.

Both devices comes with a 1,200 MHz (or 1.2 GHz) processor, 1 GB of memory that’s expandable to 3 GB and a 320 GB hard drive. There’s a 7″ color touchscreen tablet-like interface enabling users to connect to Kyocera’s HyPAS software platform to customize their workflows.

The software includes features such as Cloud Connect (for scanning to and printing from the cloud), mobile print, DMS Link for keeping up with document management needs, PinPoint Scan for scanning-to-PC functionality, and Microsoft Sharepoint Connector. Users can print from their mobile devices via Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print or Kyocera’s dedicated mobile print app.

Both devices include printing languages, such as PCL, PostScript, XPS, PDF direct print, and Kyocera’s proprietary PRESCRIBE printing language. USB and Ethernet connectivity are standard, and Wi-Fi is optional.

The devices also include Kyocera Fleet Services, a cloud-based monitoring service that lets dealers perform routine maintenance tasks for their customers remotely.

More details is in our Features section below.
