Product Overview

Kodak Alaris has recently upgraded the i4000 Series line of production-level scanners. The three new scanners, priced from $9,995 to $19,995, include improved speed and a daily duty cycle with a range of 110ppm-150ppm and 40,000 to 125,000 pages, respectively. These scanners are intended for industries with significant scanning needs, such as health care and insurance.

The three devices are:

  • The i4250 Scanner that scans at 110ppm in black, grayscale and color, and includes a daily duty cycle of 40,000 pages.
  • The i4650 Scanner that scans at 130ppm and includes a 75,000-page daily duty cycle.
  • The i4850 Scanner that has a scanning speed of 150ppm and a 125,000-page daily duty cycle.

Paper handling is unusually flexible. The document feeder holds up to 500 sheets and features ultrasonic double-feed detection. Papers stocks up to 110lb. index can be scanned.

Kodak Alaris also offers an optional ultra-lightweight accessory that allows you to scan fine paper down to 7lb. bond. Ledger-size pages can be scanned along with large-format paper up to 12″ in width, and both models can scan in long documents such as instrument readouts, up to 160.″ Small documents can be scanned down to 2.5″ x 2.5″.

Additionally, Kodak Alaris offers two flatbed accessories – one in legal size (8.5″ x 14″) and the other in A3 size (11″ x 17″).

Kodak Alaris  continues to improve its i4000 Series with speed and performance enhancements. In addition to excellent speed and flexible paper-handling, the latest scanners offer the usual strong Kodak Alaris imaging features.

Features

In addition to the automatic document feeder (ADF), the i4000 Series also includes USB connectivity, which is via both 2.0 and the newer 3.0 standard.

As with most scanners from Kodak Alaris, Perfect Page scanning with iThresholding is supported, and Kodak Capture Pro Software (Limited Edition) is included. Imaging features include streak-filtering, deskewing, auto-cropping, blank page detection and removal, and page rotation (automatic page orientation). Multicolor dropout and color page selection are also featured.

Output formats include PDF, PDF-A, TIFF (single- and multipage), JPEG, RTF and TXT. These scanners are also easily integrated with SharePoint output, as well as ISIS, TWAIN and WIA. Output to email is also supported.

These models come bundled with Kodak SmartTouch for walk-up use. You can create nine one-button workflows, available from the operator control panel.
