Product Overview

The fi-7800 and  fi-7900 scanners are new production scanners in Fujitsu’s lineup. The fi-7800 ($10,995) scans at up to 110 ppm (220 ipm duplex) and has a daily duty cycle of 100,000 sheets. The fi-7900 ($15,995) scans at up to 140 ppm (280 ipm) and has a daily duty cycle of 120,000 sheets. Both scanners include a 500-sheet automatic document feeder.

The fi-7800 and fi-7900 accept a variety of documents from business cards to long paper. The minimum paper size of the document feeder is 2″ x 3″ and the maximum size is up to 12″ x 17″. The maximum long paper scanning is 12″ x 220″.

Ultrasonic double-feed detection is standard. Connectivity is via USB.

More details on the scanners is in our Features section below.

The fi-7800 and fi-7900 are flexible scanners designed for back-office and other production-oriented environments with large scanning needs.

Scan input resolution can go up to 600dpi (with 1,200dpi interpolation) in both grayscale and color. There is a wide range of image enhancement tools such as noise removal, automatic color detection, blank page detection and thresholding, as well as image orientation and paper deskew.

Fujitsu also includes its Scanner Central Admin functionality which allows you to perform scanner monitoring features (such as running status and consumable status) from a single location. Fujitsu also includes several features with these scanners, such as a “skew reducer” function that detect and corrects paper skews of various documents.  Another feature is the acoustic sensor that monitors sounds of a scanning document and stops the scans once an error is detected.

Fujitsu also includes the PaperStream IP and PaperStream Capture for document management functionality.  PaperStream Capture introduced a new feature that can easily sort batch documents: Automatic Profile Selection. Automatic Profile Selection prevents users from having to adjust formatting and settings for each scanned document. This feature can recognize specific formatting for each document and, based on preset configurations, can automatically specific image processing settings and saving destinations.

An optional postscan imprinter is available. It allows you to adjust the printing position of up to 40 characters that can include a date-and-time stamp and sequence numbering in a user-defined string.

The Stacker Side Guide feature aids in making document stacking and collecting more efficient. It aligns the edges of the documents and automatically stacks them post-scan.

Finally, both scanners include a one-year basic warranty.
