Product Overview
The Expression ET-7700 all-in-one printers are two of the seven devices recently introduced in Epson’s portfolio of EcoTank Supertank all-in-ones. The EcoTank printers has a unique feature of providing cartridge-free, easy-to-use ink tanks that has enough ink to last for two years. The printers are shipped with two black ink tanks and two of each of the three color ink tanks (plus a photo ink color) with a maximum print yield of 14,000 pages (black) and 9,000 pages (color). That’s very remarkable and goes a long way to helping small businesses save on print costs.
Epson has improved on its EcoTank system, making it easy for the user to refill ink rather than replace cartridges. The ink tanks on each printer is located on the front. Each ink bottle includes an auto-stop feature that indicates to the user that the tank is full, which prevents inaccurate ink fillings.
The Expression Premium ET-7700 ($550) and ET-7750 ($650) supports standard printing, copying, scanning and includes photo-printing capability. Both printers include an ISO speed of up to 13ppm in black and up to 8ppm in color. It also includes a 2.7″ LCD panel so users can view photos straight from the printer.
Both devices share similar specifications, however, there are a few differences. The ET-7700 prints up to 8.5″ x 14″ paper (as well as photos), while the ET-7750 handles up to 11″ x 17″ paper. The ET-7750 also includes a rear feed that handles specialty paper.

The Expression Premium ET-7700 Series are affordable buys for small businesses that need basic printing, copying and scanning features, as well as photo-printing capability. The extra ink tanks shipped with the printer goes a long way in helping businesses save on printing expenses.
Features
The Expression Premium ET-7700 Series include host-based printing (Epson’s proprietary printing language). USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity are standard. Mobile printing is supported via Epson Connect, Epson Email Print, Epson iPrint Mobile App, Epson Remote Print, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and Mopria Print Service.
Paper input capacity is 100 sheets for plain paper and 20 sheets for photo paper. There is a 5,000-sheet monthly duty cycle, but Epson recommends a monthly volume of 800 pages.
Copying speed is up to 13cpm ISO in black and 8cpm ISO in color. Standard copying features include ID copy and adjustable copy density.
The scanning function uses the color flatbed CIS scanner. It supports scan-to-PC (via Document Capture Pro), scan-to-Cloud and scan-to-PDF.
Both devices are Windows and Mac compatible. There is a two-year limited warranty.
As mentioned above, the printers shipped with two black ink tanks and two of each of the three color and black photo ink tanks with a maximum print yield of 14,000 pages (black) and 9,000 pages (color). The yields for the replacement bottles are 8,000 in black and 5,000 in each color. Based on our calculations, the cost per page in both black and color is roughly a penny. Businesses will not only save money by using the initial ink tanks but also on the replacement ones.

Shortcomings

Epson America is a division of Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, a manufacturer and supplier of imaging products, semiconductors, liquid crystal displays, and watches. The company has been an innovative designer of ink jet printers and sells an extensive product line. Most of these are geared to home and school use, but Epson continues to extend its line further into the office environment.
Epson has been making a more aggressive play for the document scanner market, although the company’s been in the multipurpose office scanner business for years. The models and other additions to its model line seem to be part of an effort to further extend its current scanner technology. As part of this effort, Epson makes these scanners available in consumer electronics stores such as Best Buy, along with Epson dealers and on its website.
