Product Overview

BlueVolt is a solutions company for channel-oriented organizations, offered L&D strategy, custom course content, learning data visualization and a cloud-based learning management system platform.

In addition to providing cost savings and flexibility, other benefits of BlueVolt include:

BlueVolt works with customers to produce custom course for content integrated with their go-to-market strategy, including new product training, brand awareness programs, product updates, and solution selling.

It can be integrated with different systems, such as HRIS and CRM systems, Salesforce, eCommerce, Adobe Connect (for webinars) and Google Analytics. BlueVolt also offers single-sign-on capability as an option.

Features

We want to note that BlueVolt offers incentives for learning, such as the $BlueBucks reward program. Admins can apply any $BlueBucks amount to any course, in the form of electronic gift cards. Students receive the $BlueBucks upon course completion and can redeem them at retailers such as Amazon or Best Buy.

BlueVolt has a couple of new features we want to point out:

Business intelligence – BlueVolt includes an embedded analytics suite that helps companies measure the success of their training programs. It has two prebuilt dashboards (Aggregated Performance and My Subscription), but users can upgrade to the Executive tier that offers advanced data modeling functionality, as well as the ability to create and save custom dashboards. Users can track course completions, top enrollments, course sales and other metrics.

KnowledgeBumps – Based on research that the average learner forgets most of the information they’ve learned within the next day, this new feature helps them retain the course material hours, days or weeks later. BlueVolt sends a KnowledgeBump (in the form of a quiz or brief course) to the learner by text or email that the learner needs to complete to show how much they’ve retained. If the learner complete the course, they can be awarded a $BlueBucks amount set by the administrator.

Target Market

BlueVolt’s footprint is greatest among companies and associations in the skilled trades, including HVAC, plumbing, industrial supply, and electrical. Other client industries include software, medical goods, and sporting equipment.

Implementation/Integration

New clients work with BlueVolt’s e-learning consultant to determine the best training programs for them.

For clients that are migrating from an older LMS, BlueVolt can import data for them.

BlueVolt also offers custom services, such as course design and development, feature development, videos and webcasts.

Shortcomings

BlueVolt is not ideal for companies whose approach to training is only instructor-led/classroom-based training. BlueVolt can track course participation and completion with ILT, but lacks the features for reliance on that single approach.

Organizations that do not approach training through a blended learning or digital approach should look into other solutions for tracking training.
