Sage HRMS At A Glance

Good: Self-service functionality, the ability to manage employee records in one place, flexible, modular design.
Bad: Pricing and implementation is determined based on a client's needs and modules being purchased, so it's not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Implementation/Integration

Sage offers a few ways for companies to implement the software: Sage Professional Services Group, or through a Sage Certified Partner. It doesn’t recommend companies implementing the software themselves.

Each implementation is unique to the client and tailored to their needs. When implementation begins clients can expect a scoping meeting to identify requirements and the vision for Sage HRMS. Once the requirements phase is completed a project plan and timeline will be mapped out, and then implementation begins once the timeline and plan are agreed upon.

Sage has modules that are integrated and endorsed, but clients can integrate other systems they already own through custom integrations.

If the payroll module is part of the software purchased, two parallel payrolls will be run as part of the go live phase. This means the client’s current system and Sage HRMS Payroll will calculate at the same time to ensure accuracy.

Customer Service & Support

Sage offers several ways by which customers can get advice or support.

  1. Sage Business Care is an annual fee that, depending on the level purchased, provides clients with online and over the phone tech support. An active Business Care plan provides a platform to work with a seasoned technical Sage colleague and receive access to additional resources while tracking the ticket as a unique user case that may be followed on a customer portal, as well as, initiating the cases via the customer portal. The live chat platform can help with the quick how-to or common errors. Phone support is also available for users to address software questions as they arise.
  2. The Sage Knowledgebase includes forums, articles, and whitepapers that users can log in and browse freely to quickly find answers. Clients can locate product articles, download product updates and release notes. Many of the articles also offer a link to the live chat platform.
  3. Sage City is a company-wide social networking hub for Sage North America customers and business partners. Sage HRMS has its own unique city where clients and partners can visit to engage in forum discussions about the use of Sage HRMS within their business industry as well as read blogs about trends in the industry.
  4. Sage University offers courses and certifications designed for multiple experience levels and job roles. Custom training for larger groups or for users with specific training requests or requirements are also available. Sage’s Expert Challenge assessments help users determine if they’ll benefit from investing in a class or certification.

Shortcomings

Pricing and implementation is determined based on a client’s needs and modules being purchased, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.
