Slemma At A Glance

Good: Integrates with many common third-party solutions and disparate data sources.
Bad: With databases and warehouses, Slemma often requires someone knowledgable in SQL to perform table-joins and create new views for visualization.
Bottom Line: A simple business analytics and data visualization tool that uses interactive dashboards to share information.

Product Overview

Slemma is a user-friendly business analytics and data visualization application for small e-commerce businesses and startups. As a cloud-based tool, it allows users to explore data and share insights across the company through easily customized, interactive dashboards.

Slemma offers white-label and embedded options. The white-label solution allows companies to fully brand the Slemma dashboards as their own (e.g., logo, colors), while the embedded software lets them embed Slemma dashboards and reports within any application (e.g., email, website, client portal).

Features

Slemma’s simple interface allows users to customize data visualization to see the information critical to their business. Drag-and-drop capabilities gives businesses the flexibility to write queries specific to their needs.

Additional features include:

  • Schedules – The application automatically refreshes data to give users the most up-to-date information.
  • Data integration – Slemma has the ability to correlate disparate data sources on a single dashboard.
  • Geographical analytics – Build Google maps populated with customer locations.
  • Dashboard delivery – Receive automated reports in a PDF format.
  • Secure connections – Slemma connects in read-only formats and offers security options like SSL encryption or SSH tunnels.
  • Data & dashboard export – Export dashboards in PDF or PNG files and chart data in CSV or XLS files.
  • User management – Manage permissions for shared dashboards.
  • Data blending – Visualize disparate data sources in common dimensions to facilitate cross-source analysis.

Annual maintenance and support for the second year and beyond costs $3,999. Companies can purchase additional user license bundles (10 users per bundle) for $100 per month.

Shortcomings

Slemma doesn’t offer any additional logic layer to create relationships between data tables resulting in the need to write SQL code that pulls columns from multiple tables. However, Slemma partners with pipeline companies, such as Fivetran, to serve customers requiring integration combinations and data cleansing.
