ClicData At A Glance

Good: Scalable pricing plans, automatic dashboard refresh when data sources are updated, various options to share dashboards.
Bad: Some users have experienced a steep learning curve.
Bottom Line: BI platform that allows users to connect data from multiple sources and build intuitive dashboards more efficiently.

Product Overview

ClicData is a cloud-based business intelligence platform that connects data from various sources and allows users to create customized dashboards within minutes.

For many businesses, data is stored and shared in multiple systems. With ClicData, users can merge all data into a single data warehouse, create custom dashboards via a drag-and-drop interface, and then share them.

There’s a four-step process for building, sharing and monitoring dashboards with ClicData:

  1. Data is consolidated from multiple sources, regardless of format, into a single data warehouse.
  2. Data is cleaned and transformed via the Extract Transfer Load (ETL) platform.
  3. Users create dashboards and reports from multiple sources via a drag-and-drop interface.
  4. Users publish and share dashboards. Dashboards can be sent via email or published on a company’s intranet, website or social networks.

ClicData is accessible for everyone, regardless of job role or technical expertise. Since it’s housed in the cloud, users can access it from any device. ClicData has native mobile applications for Android and Apple iOS/iPhone so users can view dashboards from their phones or tablets.

Features

ClicData connects to many different applications, such as spreadsheets, databases, customer relationship management (CRM) systems (such as Salesforce or HubSpot), cloud storage (e.g., Box, Dropbox, Google Drive) and social platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Google Analytics). It also integrates with relational databases (such as Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL and SQL Server) and big data connectors. Additionally, ClicData’s Web Services, Open API and ODBC JSON connections allow users to connect to over 1,000 business applications.

ClicData cleans and transforms data to make it consistent. The Normalize and Standardize features check for correct dates and extra spaces. The solution also makes sure data values that share the same naming convention are standardized (for example, state abbreviations).

In addition, there’s a Data Merge feature that combines data from separate systems into a single table. Data merges don’t have to be performed each time new data is included. Users can just refresh the data source, and the merge automatically updates itself.

The dashboard designer is a drag-and-drop interface with a variety of visualization tools referred to as widgets. Some examples of these tools are charts, tables, images, audio, videos and infographics. The dashboards are automatically refreshed when there’s a change in the data. Dashboards can also be customized to match a company’s branding.

Users can share dashboards with individual colleagues or teams by adding them to a dashboard security list or by email. Dashboards can be exported as PDFs or images, or via Live Link (a link to the dashboard that can be public or password-protected), and settings allow them to be published automatically.

Here are a few other key features of ClicData:

  • Access to historical data so users can go back and compare data after each refresh
  • Ability to set parameters and access to data/dashboards by individual users or teams
  • Alerts on key metrics (e.g., if performance exceeds or falls short of expectations)
  • Ability to send data in real time or trigger data refreshes via REST application programming interface (API)
  • White-label embedded visualizations in client’s internal portal, website or other platforms
  • In-app native language for English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
