Ricoh MP C2003 and MP C2503 Review

Good: Stapleless finisher option, Ricoh's Smart Device Print&Scan app
Bad: Optional PostScript (most competitive machines offer it as standard)
Bottom Line: Compact machines that are good for the small to medium offices.

Product Overview

In 2014, Ricoh has released two color MFPs for the small or medium-sized offices. Both machines offer standard copying, printing, and scanning features, plus optional faxing. The MP C2003 ($6,890) runs at 20ppm in both black and color, while the MP C2503 ($9,330) has a speed of 25ppm in both modes. Warm-up time for both devices is a speedy 19 seconds. First-copy-time is 7.6 seconds in color for the MP C2003 and 7.5 seconds (color) for the MP C2503.

There is a 600MHz processor and 1.5GB of standard memory with the option to add up to 2GB maximum. There is a standard 250GB hard drive. Both devices also include a tiltable, 9″ Full Color Control Panel that includes a customizable home screen.

More details on these devices’ features can be found in our Features section below.

Aimed at offices that need color but not the full range of high-end features, the MP C2003 and MP C2503 are good bargains with strong-enough capabilities for many offices. We especially like the unique stapleless finishing option.
