Visual Analytics At A Glance

Good: SAS Visual Analytics combines data preparation, interactive reporting, visual discovery, self-service analytics, scalability and governance all from a single, powerful in-memory environment.
Bad: Software can have steep learning curve and is not always intuitive, according to some users.
Bottom Line: SAS Visual Analytics provides a modern, integrated environment for governed discovery and exploration with easy-to-use analytics and visualizations that help everyone get insights from data to better solve complex business problems.

Product Overview

SAS Visual Analytics allows users to create interactive reports and dashboards by querying and preparing data from multiple sources in a self-service manner. Interactive discovery allows users to identify key relationships, outliers, clusters, trends and more, revealing insights that inspire action.

SAS Visual Analytics includes easy-to-use predictive analytics capabilities to quickly assess possible outcomes for better, data-driven decisions – without any programming. Visualizations and smart algorithms reduce the need for experimentation. Additionally, location analytics brings the “where” dimension to the forefront, so data can be analyzed in new ways, in order to identify location specific opportunities. For timely analysis, collaboration and action, content can be shared with others via the web, Microsoft 365 applications and mobile devices.

Features

Interactive reporting and dashboards allows the user to go directly from reporting and exploration, to analysis, to sharing information through different channels, including Microsoft Office applications, with a single interface.

Smart visualizations present data and results in the most compelling way with advanced data visualization techniques and guided analysis through autocharting.

Self-service data preparation allows the user to import their own data, join tables, apply basic data quality functions and more with easy drag-and-drop capabilities.

Text analysis provides insight from social media and other text data, and whether sentiment is positive or negative.

Location analytics combines traditional data sources (transactional, customer, operational, etc.) with location data for analysis in a geographical context.

SAS Visual Analytics Apps uses native mobile apps for iOS, Windows 10/11 and Android to view and interact with others through dynamic reports and dashboards on tablets and smartphones.

Flexible deployment options allow SAS Visual Analytics to run on commodity hardware, in a private or public cloud infrastructure, or Cloud Foundry platform as a service (PaaS).

There’s also a SAS Conversational Designer that lets users build chatbots with minimal coding needed. With the chatbot, users can get data, reports and visualizations, and they can even create text analytics and machine learning models, too.
