Product Overview

Logi Analytics provides an economically feasible, efficient way for any size company – from small to medium sized businesses with limited technological capability, to the largest corporations – the ability to deliver business intelligence insights.

Aside from its speed and ease of use, Logi touts their “elemental design” approach to BI, a way to deliver reports and dashboards to any platform without any coding. Not having to deal with coding frees up valuable time and resources for end-users.

Completely interactive mobile applications can be created easily by users. They are completely based on the web and can be accessed from any platform. Users have the option to deploy an application to multiple mobile platforms.

Logi also offers embedded analytics, which allows users to embed dashboards, analytics, and reporting into existing applications. This service is far easier, quicker, and cheaper than replacing the legacy system.

Logi has a suite of applications called Logi Symphony that include:

  • Logi Composer, an embedded analytics platform that’s specifically intended for software companies
  • Logi Report, an embedded reporting tool, and
  • Logi Info, a developer-grade embedded analytics platform

Shortcomings

Some users have mentioned that Logi Analytics has a steep learning curve, especially for a non-expert SQL user.  And while Logi Analytics offers users a lot of freedom, it can also be time consuming to manually set attributes or to perform manual hacks on every single element in a report.

Logi Analytics is Great Investment

We started using Logi Analystics almost 10 years ago to build an external-facing data analysis tool. Partnering with Logi has allowed us to grow our data product revenue by over seven times, and bring implementation of the tool in-house. The application is easy to use and understand, and the support we've received from the Logi team has always been five star. Using Logi to build our tools has allowed us more flexibility with our products and the ability to expand our offerings quickly and efficiently, leading to increased user satisfaction. Highly recommended.

Logi Analytics Unable to Resolve Security Update

While the product Logi Info has more horsepower than we needed and costs more than we should have spent to develop reports, once it's set it works well. The huge downside for us and the reason we had to leave Logi is that the support team was unable to resolve a security requirement enforced from our data source (Salesforce - TLS 1.1 encryption). The support team spent more than 2 months to try and resolve and was unable to resolve during that time. We had bought into the product and was able to develop what we needed with the help of one of their premier partners, dbSeer. However looking back, the costs were too much and the development method employed may have been the reason we were unable to meet what should have been a simple security requirement. Unfortunately we lost out in a big way by terminating our relationship in advance of the contract expiration and lost out on what to us is a large sum of money. On top of that Logi support required us to purchase additional software in hopes to remedy the situation but it didn’t and we were unable to get a refund. All said and done, Logi refused to refund the amounts we believed through their failures was due to us. So all in all were not happy that we had to quickly scramble to get another solution in place before the security requirement expired. The only good side is that Salesforce gave us multiple grace periods which was so helpful so we could find something else that would work for us. A small non-profit that we are probably made a bad decision in the first place partnering with Logi. Partly our fault but when it came to being there for us and taking responsibility Logi left us in the cold.
